Wrigley merch
Just throwing the question out there after waiting in 2 merch stand lines for about an hour each and getting skunked on the one show t-shirt I wanted and seeing it on the secondary market now for $100+. Is there anyone else unhappy with the way the whole situation was handled?

Edit: When I saw people waiting in pens for posters outside MSG in '08 I knew I'd had enough.
Could you have imagined if they only did merch inside?
Wouldn't say corrupt is a fair assessment. If you happened to be at a stand that had all 4 posters for sale, 2 each was the assigned limit.
I wouldn't say corrupt at all because of the limits that were set but I do think having the stands open outside of Wrigley prior to the show opened up a free for all for a lot of people whose only intentions were to immediately resell
To clarify I thought the show was great and this didn't take away from my personal experience of the show itself
if people go through all this to "fund their trip", that's really sad. that has to be a lot of stress of knowing you need to score enough items, store them securely in a kind of frenzied situation, and then get home and sell them on ebay for enough to cover all your costs (which, depending on how much your flights, hotel and how bad you got gouged on stubhub was, could be upwards of a thousand dollars).
to me, that's literally the 180 degree opposite of what I want my PJ show experience to be like. I want to go and spend time hanging out with my friends pre-show relaxing, imbibing, getting pumped up and just generally soaking the whole experience in.
not waiting in line for t-shirts and stressing over $...
I couldn't believe the line on the field even after the show had started. There must have been at least 40+ people still waiting while the show was going on
I thought it was odd that after the rain delay, people ran to the merch tent on the floor. Kind of odd.
I have mixed feelings about offering the Wrigley stuff on here. On the one hand, it takes away from those that did wait on lines. On the other hand, many waited in lines and still didn't get stuff. I got in line at the show around 4:30 and the gates opened at 5:30 (so an hour in line). I was probably second or third in line for merch so it wasn't bad for me.

No shit!!!! That they can and should do!
Don't feel bad, I would do the same thing. Waiting hours in line in the heat is just not worth it. I'm fine with paying 3-4 times the price to have it delivered to my door.
The moral to this story(true) is there was tons of shit for this show if you didnt get any , that sucks.
However, Id be shocked if you dont see some of it online.

Didn't know those were free but I laughed when I saw them on eBay since they're $5 here.
The girl right inside the building behind home plate offered it for free to everyone that bought stuff.
Whoooooopsi.
Or do you mean in the shop on 10c? That's kind of funny too.

I knew it would be a disaster, and I was already off of work the whole week, so I drove down from north of Milwaukee, where I live, on Thursday specifically to get my merch out of the way so I could enjoy myself on Friday. I got there about 9:30 and patiently waited in line until 12 when they opened. I was only about 25--50 people deep in the line so I was calm and relaxed…then I get to the booth and they tell me they NEVER had the stickers, NEVER had the cards, NEVER had that "home run" 22 shirt, NEVER had the jacket just to name a few… as irritating as that was, it was worse when they told me the other booth had things they didn't and vice versa. What that meant for me, was that I came back down early on Friday and waited in line for another 3 hours just to buy some cards and stickers.
If you were in a 4 hour line and they were out of stuff, that sucks, but understandable, but if you are the first guy in line and they never had stuff…that's just wrong.

I'm with you on this one. I didn't bother to even wait for any of the merch at the hotel. I was hoping they'd have it open again because of the issues, but no luck. I was resigned to the fact of not getting any posters or shirts, because I refused to spend 5+ hours in line down by the venue. We entered Wrigley through the Captain Morgan Club (by accident, didn't even know they were letting people in through there), and stumbled across a Cubs shop in a small room right by it that had merchandise in it. I was able to get 3 of the 4 posters and the tshirt I wanted in under 5 minutes. I'm still missing the Cracker Jack poster, but trying to get 1 vs all 4 after the fact is much more doable. Hopefully 10C puts some up for sale and I'm able to snag one (or a kind soul on here has one at a good price). I know I've gotten some hard to find posters and tickets into peoples hands for original value a number of times.

I hope some of the stuff will be made available on here.
If anybody hasa spare home run swestshirt in extra large, please let me know! That shirt is like my pj shirt dream come true :shifty:
I have no problem with opening the merch booths a few days early but they should not have been located on the outside of the stadium where just anyone could walk by and buy something.
Secondly...why on earth doesn't Ten Club just offer a poster presale on here when you purchase your ticket? You can add $35 to the cost and get a poster. I've gotten a poster at every show I've been at except Wrigley...no one should be expected to wait in like for 3-4 hours just buy merchandise and now you can't get on ebay and get any of the posters for any less than $100 each, which is triple the price.

So as I was leaving I saw that they were printing more shirts at the station by will call. Were these different then the ones they had all day or were they just pressing more and more on site to keep up with the demand? I don't think I saw it earlier at the booth.

They tried it and abandoned it, so there must be a reason. I can hypothetically think of a couple:
- Extra work to roll and ship in that quantity
- Print runs wound up being too high
- Shut out of Ten Club tickets and have to fight it out on Ticketmaster? Also missing out on the convenience of having a poster delivered to your door.
- They deal with a lot of different artists now. They all may not be keen on the idea of someone asking for their art to be printed in quantities to meet demand.
