Wrigley merch
Just throwing the question out there after waiting in 2 merch stand lines for about an hour each and getting skunked on the one show t-shirt I wanted and seeing it on the secondary market now for $100+. Is there anyone else unhappy with the way the whole situation was handled?

Supply and demand. Once you accept that collecting this stuff has taken on a life of its own and detach from it, you won't get upset about it.
Edit: When I saw people waiting in pens for posters outside MSG in '08 I knew I'd had enough.0 -
I agree with the supply and demand. I knew after seeing the stuff flipping on the secondary market as early as Wednesday afternoon it would be really crazy. Guess I underestimated it.0

I really wanted the baseball cards. I went for the 2 days it was on sale and missed out. I was even there on Thursday at 8am first in line on the side. They didnt have them. It was all disorganized and corrupt. People were buying 8 posters a piece, or anything not nailed down. Lots of people talked about how they are going to use the stuff to fund their trip. Seemed no one was local except me. Just remember, its all just crap. Material things is all it is. Enjoy the music.0

I didn't even try to get Merch. Lines were way too long. The music was much more important.
Could you have imagined if they only did merch inside? This is Not For You0 -

Wouldn't say corrupt is a fair assessment. If you happened to be at a stand that had all 4 posters for sale, 2 each was the assigned limit.0 -
I'm not upset about it. It is what it is but I don't quite understand it. I at least think there should be a10c only merch stand somehow. I didn't even bother trying to get there early once I heard all lines were 4-6 hrs. I don't need anything that bad. I just kinda wish I could've gotten one piece of memoribilia from the show.0
-
Yeah I heard some of that talk while in line at the second booth attempt. There were a couple people who were talking about getting a bunch of stuff outside over the couple days prior."Got a couple of these shirts, posters, wristbands, Trip paid for and then some, etc..."
I wouldn't say corrupt at all because of the limits that were set but I do think having the stands open outside of Wrigley prior to the show opened up a free for all for a lot of people whose only intentions were to immediately resell
To clarify I thought the show was great and this didn't take away from my personal experience of the show itself0 -
I just don't get the whole thing. at all.
if people go through all this to "fund their trip", that's really sad. that has to be a lot of stress of knowing you need to score enough items, store them securely in a kind of frenzied situation, and then get home and sell them on ebay for enough to cover all your costs (which, depending on how much your flights, hotel and how bad you got gouged on stubhub was, could be upwards of a thousand dollars).
to me, that's literally the 180 degree opposite of what I want my PJ show experience to be like. I want to go and spend time hanging out with my friends pre-show relaxing, imbibing, getting pumped up and just generally soaking the whole experience in.
not waiting in line for t-shirts and stressing over $...0 -
WTF happened at the W hotel merch sale?? It was a joke! The wireless credit card wouldn't work which made the wait 2 hours plus. Then they have the nerve to open more stands at Wrigley on Friday but they can't restock the merch at the hotel store for the travel package winners? :nono: Are you fucking kidding me? That left 2 free drinks as our BIG PERK! The money we spent for that package had nothing to do with the show and should have made the merch sale it's priority! On a positive note, the roof-top bbq/happy hour was awesome!!! We had a great time!0

All I know is I really want the 61-card baseball set...0

I couldn't believe the line on the field even after the show had started. There must have been at least 40+ people still waiting while the show was going on0 -
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE offer some Wrigley Merch on TENCLUB! I love the band but I couldn't wait in line for 4 hours for merchandise. Print up some of those shirts, you know you want to!

I thought it was odd that after the rain delay, people ran to the merch tent on the floor. Kind of odd.
I have mixed feelings about offering the Wrigley stuff on here. On the one hand, it takes away from those that did wait on lines. On the other hand, many waited in lines and still didn't get stuff. I got in line at the show around 4:30 and the gates opened at 5:30 (so an hour in line). I was probably second or third in line for merch so it wasn't bad for me.92 - Orlando

No shit!!!! That they can and should do!0 -
I refused to wait in lines that long so I just bought a flag on eBay. Wish I didn't have to but it is what it is."I'd like to thank all you mother fuckers. All you mother fuckers..." EV-10/03/050

Don't feel bad, I would do the same thing. Waiting hours in line in the heat is just not worth it. I'm fine with paying 3-4 times the price to have it delivered to my door.0 -
I went down to Wrigley with no hope of getting any merch. , got down there around 3:00 p.m. Friday ,hot ,and hungrier than a hostage. So we went to rocket burger and ate (awesome) ! After all that, checked merch lines , (kinda skechy) walked by the red trailer and it looked ok , 45 min. later we get up there ,get our shit( cuz it really is) they still had stuff . But no poster tubes, Shit!! Ok, I see a tube in a trash can (mine now) !!
The moral to this story(true) is there was tons of shit for this show if you didnt get any , that sucks.
However, Id be shocked if you dont see some of it online.0 -

Didn't know those were free but I laughed when I saw them on eBay since they're $5 here."I'd like to thank all you mother fuckers. All you mother fuckers..." EV-10/03/050
