Did anyone else see that a 1991 Let Me Sleep Xmas single sold for $316 on the bay? I know they're limited to 1500 copies and they're over 20 years old, but is that what you have to give for one now?

I'll never get one!

my 1993 vinyl is barely hanging in there. How can someone keep that for so long?

I just answered my own question.

    Good night.

Yah but what do you do... you've trying to collect something and there's that 1 thing missing. It's the most rare of them all and thus the hardest to obtain. You kind of pay through the nose for a copy.

I bought mine 4 or 5 years ago off ebay. It was about 80 bux after shipping. I just took the hit because I wanted the complete collection. I got pretty lucky. It arrived in a mailer from Epic Records. Someone at Sony (I can't remember if Epic was still operating back then) must have found a few copies and was flipping them on ebay. He had more than 1 (as he sent me a pm afterwards asking if I knew anyone else that wanted one).

Its crazy how more expensive vinyl gets by the day. I got so used to vinyl prices being low through the 90s. I thought used vinyl was getting expensive 4 or 5 years ago, but they keep going up and up...

I wonder if you'll see more of these 91's pop up now, especially if the seller thinks they can get $300 for it.

At least they're exclusive tracks (aside from the Lost Dogs inclusion of LMS).
People are nutty for orange and blue Backspacer wax, and those songs are easily found in many formats.

Prices are crazy. I'm missing the first two singles, and I'd love to have them but I don't know if I could justify spending upwards of hundreds of dollars for four tracks.

The 90s was the best time to get vinyl ... I remember buying Yield and No Code on vinyl -- brand new -- in like 1999 for pretty much" regular" price ... something like $15 or something. Thinking back now, that's crazy cheap, and nuts that the store had multiple copies of each. And then it got trendy and the prices skyrocketed. Sigh.

Vinyl came back to the common fan a few years ago, and prices are not reflecting its demand. Many of us have been collecting and enjoying since the old days. Like anything, it will be popular for a while, then seen as a niche market again. I do love being able to go to almost any music store today and find tons of vinyl again.

I got one a few months back from the bay. forget exactly how much but I saw a BIN for £60 ish and jumped on it. Came in a Universal mailer... in the payent process the seller said he has a 92 and a 93 and i picked them up for £50 ish for the pair. Not cheap but good condition so all good.

I got mine in 2011 for about $70 - until my recent purchases of the Orange and Blue pressings of The Fixer, think the most I'd paid for a 7" was $120 for the '92 single. But I justified that as it being the only one I was missing and I'd doubtlessly only see copies that go for way more afterwards (which is true)

$183.50. Better, I suppose. Still out of my price range. Given that '92s go for $50 and up these days, that makes it $133.50 on the high end for '91. Wacky!

5 years ago I got mine for 55$ on the bay. I waited and watch for months to see when multiple copies were being sold. There were three up for purchase at the time. I lucked out. Most of them were going for 80-100 at the time. I did the same thing for a few other vinyls as well

i like telling this story so i'll do it again- for as much vinyl as i have i don't have many "great finds" stories but in 2006 i was in l.a. for the pearl jam shows there. i went to amoeba hollywood and found let me sleep in the stacks for $15. couldn't believe it then, still can't believe it now. i still had a few holes in the collection at that point, but boy was that a big one to fill and to be able to do it for so cheap was certainly a welcome event.
