Anyone score a great hotel deal off Priceline for Chicago?

Just curious if anyone is getting any amazing deals for a room off Priceline for Chicago? I remember scoring a room for $65 at Hyatt Regency for PJ in Chicago 2009. I'm hoping to get lucky again for my upcoming July trip. Please post any deals, bids and areas that you have been successful at securing a good reservation online.
Thanks

I just asked this same thing today. Should have searched before posting the same thing. We got the Hyatt for $60 in 2009. I have been checking as often as I can for the $60/night in that same area and for a 4-star only hotel. Hopefully when they drop the price people will post it again on the Forum so we can all try and get it. Wait and see, I guess...

Depends on what you mean by a great deal - we got a room through them at the James that is usually $339 per night (according to the James' website) for $139 - so for two nights it is costing us about $280 which is still less than one night at regular price - we could have probably got a less expensive room but it is my wife and I's first trip to Chicago so we didn't mind spending a bit extra. I know that $339 is not necessarily the accurate price but I'm happy with the deal all things considered and I have some piece of mind (shameless Iron Maiden plug)

I had the dates around the Wrigley show entered in Hotwire and they are "watching" the rates for me...
I got a "Price Drop" e-mail from them today for this:

    4-Star Chicago Hotel
    Fri, 07/19 – Sun, 07/21
    $144 per night
    Original Price $252
    Savings of: $108

The downside to getting these deals thru Hotwire is you don't find out the name of the hotel
until after you've booked the room and paid for it & it's non-refundable
No mention of exactly where in Chicago this deal is though ;)

I've booked a room here just in case I can't find something better:
    http://www.millenniumhotels.com/millenniumchicago/

I can always cancel this one if something better pops up!!!

I am still holding out for a deal under $100. The Hyatt was $60/night 2009.

Hope they can drop the price soon so I can scratch that item off the list.

booked airfare today - used my recently aquired Southwest points.

they have a promo right now - if you apply for new card and then make a $1000 purchase in the first 3 months you get enought points for a free round trip ticket - takes about about 1 month after your qualifying purchase for the points to hit your account.

We were buying furniture anyway before this show as announced -so my wife and i each applied - got cards - split the furniture on each card - so we fly for free!

So you can score a 4 star hotel (Hyatt Regency, Westin, Sheraton...) at grant park millenium area on Pricelines express deals for $132 a night when you apply the "SPRING" promo code at checkout for an additional 5% off. Is this about what everyone is paying who booked for Hyatt Regency this summer?

Chicago Sheraton, O'Hare (4 stars). I bid $67 on Priceline and got it. It's in Rosemont and right on the blue line, runs 24hrs, easy access to downtown and Wrigley Field.

Got free parking at my hotel, so that will count for something, considering how expensive it is to park in the city. I am staying at the Hyatt down Wacker Drive. I am planning on just taking the train down to Wrigley Field.

I did the name your own price through Priceline in Chicago for the first weekend of March. The criteria I used was 4 stars in the loop. From reading the boards I started at $65/ night. After a couple of days increasing the bid about $11 each time I got the Hyatt regency for $97 + taxes/ night. I also booked 2 weeks before we stayed, so I dont know if that makes a difference.

I just booked The Palmer House for $130 a night on Priceline using the Name Your Own Price deal. I've been trying all week to bid around $100 for a 4 star hotel downtown, but with the Phish announcement, I upped it & got it on the first price I put in. I don't know if prices will go down at this point, but maybe if you wait til closer to the date? I wasn't willing to take the chance and $130 seems like a decent deal in Chicago that weekend.

I gambled and did the 4 star option in River North - Magnificent Mile area for $130/night. Ended up with Hotel Felix, which I was hoping not to get, but whatevs. $600 for 4 nights, all taxes and everything. Also, will be taking the train from Flint, MI to Chicago (Union station right near my hotel), for about $100 round trip for my wife and I. So no driving, spending money on gas or parking, can stand up and walk around, or go to the bathroom if I need to, and it takes about 5 hours, same as driving would. I think there might even be a bar on the train to get cocktails. We'll use the CTA 3 day pass to get around to the tourist attractions.

Now if I just had tickets for the concert, the trip would be perfect :(

I booked the Travelodge yesterday through Priceline's express deals for Wednesday - Saturday for $59/night. 1 star in Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park. Saved 50% off the $120 regular price. Looks like it went up to $62 today.
