Grave Encounters was good... the sequel, not so much.

The Sequel is out?!!! I thought they were making it still, but then again I have not been keeping track for a long time now.

I'll still watch it. Just to see how they did.

I enjoyed it. A very different take on the "horror movie".

It both poked fun of movies and praised some of its great characters at the same time.

I'm looking forward to it. I started a thread about it after it was announced, but it didn't really take off. Probably was too soon.

    AMC to add more 'Horror':

“The Terror” series will be an adaptation of the 2007 bestselling novel by Dan Simmons. I haven’t read the book, but the synopsis piques my interest. It’s “is set in 1847 when the crew of a Royal Naval expedition to find the Arctic’s treacherous Northwest Passage discovers instead a monstrous predator – a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, the consequences of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.”

It’s being written by David Kajganich, who is also adapting the feature film version of The Stand for Warner Bros. he will executive produce along with Ridley (and formerly Tony) Scott’s Scott Free TV, Television 360, and Alexandra Milchan.

No air date has been set, and that probably won’t change for quite a while.

I really like the found footage genre. None of them scare me, but they keep my interest and can get suspenseful.

My top 5 found footage horror movies are:

    1. Grave Encounters
    2. Quarantine
    3. Paranormal Entity
    4. Paranormal Activity
    5. The Devil Inside

    did you like Cloverfield?

I own most of them, the commentary is usually better than the movie.

I didn't like Cloverfield. I don't think I've liked any found footage since The Blair Witch project, I can't get past the fact that nobody would be filming such things. Even in Blair Witch I found it strange, but it sort of fit with the plot and it was still kind of a novel idea (at least to me) at the time so it didn't bother me much. I didn't find Cloverfield interesting at all, the whole thing was a boring blur. And I felt like I'd seen it all before. I'd seen found footage movies, and I'd seen monster attacks city movies. The fact they combined them didn't do anything for me.
