The Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon claims that Pearl Jam have inspired his band's plans for their next album.
The New Jersey four-piece, who only recently released their fourth album 'Handwritten', already have ideas for their fifth LP according to frontman Brian Fallon. He told Rolling Stone: "I want to do the 'No Code' record [Pearl Jam's fourth album], that one. They did these three rock records, and [then] they all of a sudden went left turn. And everybody went, 'What the hell?' Then later, five years, they went, 'This is amazing.'"
He added: "We're searching for something new to do with songwriting, rather than just piecing together verses and choruses in more of a traditional sense. We're looking for some other thing – not some other genre, but something else. And it might not be the favourite of everyone, but [it] might be the 'weird' album coming up. I'm pretty sure it is."

The Gaslight Xmas Single is out. albeit slightly late. Reminds you of anything? actually it's the digital version only physical copies are coming.
Liars on Fire is actually an acoustic version of Desire.
Making Whoopee is the new song Halloween they have been playing live
Not sure why they used those names but most people seem to think its a joke (I hope) and the 45 will have the right names
Dear 45 RPM Club Members,
Thanks again for joining this year. As part of your membership, we promised to get each of you an exclusive 7" vinyl with two new Gaslight recordings not available anywhere else in the world. The good news is that the recordings are complete and we think you will like them. Unfortunately, we have had a delay in production, which means we'll be mailing these 7" records to each of you sometime in early 2013. But, in the meantime, we are happy to make the music available to you digitally in the attached link below.
Enjoy and Happy New Year!

I just got another email with the corrections to the file names
For those of you who have already downloaded the music files you may have seen the file names (alias') once the zipped file is extracted as listed below. We provided file names not titles; please rename them with the respective song titles of "Desire - acoustic - 2012" for 'Liars' and "Halloween - 2012" for 'Making W'. They were named this way to prevent internet searches from finding them. We realize that there are many different ways that people store and listen to music and this method of distribution was chosen to cover the majority. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
File names:

I love this band and also love the Brian is not afraid to emulate his music heroes. He is right- No Code is brilliant, but their is one key difference- Pearl jam were huge when they did the left turn. The Gaslight Anthem are still gaining fans and building, so whilst I would love to see this, I am not sure it will do their rise any immediate good.
On a side note- they are gaining some more attention here in Oz- Triple M (commercial rock station) in Brisbane have included " Handwritten" in their new years advertising for the music direction they are going and have been playing a bit of them lately. I might start listening to this radio station again- they have stated they are concentrating on music from the 90's and forward.
Jeez, I hope these boys tour Oz soonI'll ride the wave where it takes me
