I think LD is a Knicks fan. Or at least that's what he claimed in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm when he went to a Lakers game with Richard Lewis. and of course, everything you hear on television is the truth.

Granted I don't have a great perspective on MLB, but doesn't the league suffer from a similar problem as the NBA where the teams with a lot of money and big markets kind of rule the field?

nope. look at the playoff teams last year. most were middle/lower spending teams. big spenders like philly, boston, anaheim, LAD didn't make playoffs.
