Yeah, I was reading that earlier. It also said no smoking for 12 hours  ...and also read this :(

"When is the best time to have my wisdom teeth removed?
It is now recommended by dentists that impacted wisdom teeth be removed between the ages of 14 and 22 years whether they are causing problems or not. Surgery is technically easier and patients recover much more quickly when they are younger. What is a relatively minor operation at 20 can become quiet difficult in patients over 40. Also the risk of complications increases with age and the healing process is slower."

yeh.. the older you get, the firmer the bone is and the less "give" it has.. and the roots arent fully formed on them when youre in your teens.. so theres less tooth to get out.

smoke and u run the risk of a dry socket.

find someone thats had a dry socket and ask them how nice they feel ;)
they are worse the than the tooth ache to start with and last for a few weeks. basically smoking is a risk for the clot dissolving. then you are left with exposed holes of bone...
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Yeah....I read about that too :(

"Following an extraction, a condition called "dry socket" may occur. If the blood clot that formed in the extraction area becomes dislodged, it exposes the underlying bone. This condition is very painful but resolves after a few days. It is preventable by following the post treatment instructions provided by your dentist. "

I was suppose to go and have x-rays of my bottom left wisdom teeth over 10yrs ago and I didnt...
Recently I had x-rays done for another problem and u could see my wisdom teeth laying on their sides in my gum...
I have two wisdom teeth that have come thru and are fine....were I had mollars out there was room for them to come thru

I once had a tooth out didnt really need to there was an abcess under it causing all the problem...
Dentist's dont like touching teeth when u have an abcess normally u have to have antibiotics to clear it all up first....
For some weird reason the dentist didnt know I had an abscess until after the tooth had been removed... :(

a lot of the time you can leave them as they are.. sideways.. as long as they dont have a cyst around them, and arent damaging the molar in front. youll find that horizontally impacted (sideways) wizzy teeth can also lead to further crowding of your lower front incisors cos they like to push forward.

as for abscessed teeth... theres 10000s of people out there walkin around with dormant chronically abscessed teeth.. think of them like volcanoes waiting to erupt! one days when the immune system is down a bit, the chronic abscess can flare up and u can end up with a nasty tooth ache and maybe a swollen face. that can make u pretty crook (or kill you). i dont like to fob people off with antibiotics first... i would use them in tandem with either getting the tooth out or doing root canal treatment.... zzzzzzz

OMG!!! Can you see my teeth?!

2 of my top ones have grown out sideways and don't seem to cause any problems except for the fact that they're a pain in the arse to clean  and have crowded a little bit :(

It's the one on the bottom right thats a bastard though  has been trying for about 10 years to partly come up under the tooth in front of it AND has crowded and undone all the work I had done when I was younger....Grrrr!
It only used to cause problems every now and then and it was nothing major.....but this year it's getting a lot more frequent and causing ear aches, sinus problems etc etc.

Geez I hope I'm going to be able to recover as quickly as everyone has said on here......the fact that I'm older though doesn't make it sound promising.....I don't have time to be out of action!

Yeah I had a massive swollen face was so horrible....
Ive had 2 teeth pulled out I think the abscess one they couldve done root canal on but Im really scared of the dentist so opted to have it removed instead something I now regret hugely.........:(
