I really like that one song that they hate to play...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV8NHsmVMPEThe joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I would love to see this at least once more - for at least one song at one show. He deserves that much.

Totally. Matt is the Pearl Jam drummer until the band or Matt says otherwise -- I dont blame this guy for loving Pearl Jam but we love Matt! The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

that doesn't make any sense. being a bass player and also a singer, I understand the role of each player in a band. I like to think we're all equal. but we're not. and the drummer (and to a slightly lesser extent the bass player) is about the most replaceable player in any band.

What I find strange is that he tweeted that only days after PJ's bassist's side project band posted about how his band sucked on SNL and copied their look. Uh, interesting timing there Adam.
Of course there would be a PJ if Matt quit. But he hasn't, so why in the hell is this guy scrounging for his job? It's just weird. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Your missing the point. None of the guys are replaceable, clearly to the 5 of them they think each is an important as the other. IMO I think if any one member left the band now, they would call it a day.
Matt has been in the band for 2/3rds of Pearl Jam's existence, I really don't get why people think he is just a commodity.2000: Manchester

Who said that?? I love Matt. I just don't see why PJ would break up just because they had to replace one member of the band. Matt or someone else, as long as it's not Ed. I mean, who knows; maybe they would call it a day, but I don't see why they would unless they are all teetering on the edge of calling it a day anyway, and I don't think they are. Yes, they are all important, but that doesn't make them totally inflexible. That does not mean that any of them are expendable; just that the band can probably roll with the punches if necessary.boyo79 wrote:Hugh Freaking Dillon wrote:boyo79 wrote:No Matt Cameron = No Pearl Jam.

Last time I checked Pearl Jam wasn't The Eddie Vedder Band. Do you honestly think they'd go on without Stone or Jeff? Or Mike or Matt? Pearl Jam is five parts and I'm pretty sure the band members think this too. I very much doubt they'd continue with just say Ed and 4 backing guys ala GNR or Smashing Pumpkins.
Personally I wouldn't want them to continue as Pearl Jam if any of the current members left the band. It wouldn't be Pearl Jam IMO.2000: Manchester

No, it's not the Eddie Vedder band, but they couldn't even attempt to keep being PJ without him - that's just a fact. I would personall be very upset if any member left for any reason, but I would still be open to a new member if that's what they had to do.... but no, I sure couldn't deal with more than one change. They are indeed a band together. I think they could handle it if one member had to quit. There are still enough of them to keep it really being PJ. But after that, probably not. Obviously no one here wants PJ to turn out like gnr. I'm just saying that they are strong enough to keep going if something happened with one of them. I have no clue what they would actually do. Again, that probably depends on just how dedicated they are to PJ at this point in their careers, and if they all want to keep it as their main job. I have no clue how they are feeling right now on that front. I think that if they broke up because of one member, it would tell us that they were waiting for a reason to get out. But anyway, this is all neither here nor there, since no member is going anywhere as far as I know.boyo79 wrote:Last time I checked Pearl Jam wasn't The Eddie Vedder Band.
