PJ every time they've been to Chicago or Alpine.
AIC at the Aragon for Dirt.
Soundgarden at the Aragon for Badmotorfinger.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO many insanely great shows in and around Chicago
throughout the late 80's through today!
Saw Pj twice in 92...in Orlando at a small club called The edge and also at lollapolooza...I remember Baba O'riley like it was yesterday! It was funny because all the people around us acted like they had never heard that song before! :fp:
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...

I saw the RHCP/Nirvana/PJ triple-bill in December 1991 in Los Angeles. I then saw PJ at Lolla 1992 where they played TOTD stuff with SG. Wiliam Reid from the JAMC also played with PJ that day. We were in the pit, which was still pretty empty because PJ came on 2nd, as far as I can recall.
I saw Nirvana in Dec 1993 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
The only AIC gig I saw was an acoustic set at a benefit at the Hollywood Palladium in 93 or 94.
1st PJ for me was '92 Lolla....and I've seen them every year since (including side/solo projects).
I will never forget he 1st time I actually moshed....it was at Lolla '93 - Rage - AIC closed and was great, but Rage blew me away. Quonset State Airport in Rhode Island.
Was supposed to see Nirvana at the '94 Lolla, but Kurt...well, you know what happen.

I remember being 14 years old and my young mind blown away at Lolla '92. From a concert-going point of view, changed my life.
Saw pj in 92 in a tiny venue that is now a Walmart  Was a mind blowing experience for me at age 18. Also saw nirvana...weird how those memories fade. Will never forget the thrill and rush of my first pj concert though.

Lolla 92 was an iconic line-up
RHCP
Ministry
Ice Cube
Soundgarden
Jesus and Mary Chain
PJ
Lush
all of these acts were at the top of their game at the time!
oh yeah...you guys reminded me, I saw Soundgarden at Lolla. They played with DEVO, Metallica and The Ramones.
(I also remember Sister Psycotica-or something like that)
Black Hole Sun was playing as the sun set on the Gorge...fuck that was beautiful and amazing.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
Saw PJ at Limelight in NYC in April 92 and AIC on the Clash of the Titans tour in Syracuse/ Weedsport NY in 92.
Passed on Nirvana in NYC. I had their CD but was not a big enough fan to go see them live. At the time I felt they thought they were a little to "cool" for my full support. I never felt that way about PJ.
I used to go to the lollapalooza's in Vancouver (at thunderbird stadium). I think I would of been 14 (or 15) for the PJ one. It was pretty epic so I kept going. I believe AIC was the following year.
I also saw Nirvana in Vancouver in '94 (it was right after new years). They did two shows in a row, I caught the first one.
It's a good thing I had a friend who's dad didn't mind taking us to the show.

Not bad for a first show. Short, sweet and tremendously riveting.
And I was immediately hooked :P
