    It could be seen as funny/sarcastic if the guy didn't actually believe this. But he does.. Reality check is needed.

    Where is that thread about how America is seen by 'others'? Things that some american remain blissfully unaware, or maybe rather choose to ignore and would rather wallow in some weird 'patriotic' muck.

    Note that I have absolutely nothing against patriotism. This is a good thing. But patriotism does not mean being blind. One will love one's partner but also see the 'lesser' sides of this partner - does not mean love is less strong, on the contrary. Same with patriotism - be real.

    And Europe..... so many different countries, all individual with different 'lesser sides'. Though I do understand that for many americans 'Europe' seems to be one country (or maybe lots of little ones but the same...)
