    At the moment, it's not clear. It would seem from the sting operation and the guy's questions that he was 'independent' without any contacts and the thought he had made contact with an al Qaeda operative when meeting with the undercover agent.

    Al Queda is like America.....its an idea....the idea that is totalitarian and the rule of law is Sharia. The Caliphate is the pursuit and Jihad is the goal!     i am pretty sure that the continent of north america is a real thing and not just an idea. i am pretty sure that the actual land that comprises "america" within our borders is a real thing.

    there are many "ideas" of what america is. my idea of america certainly is not the same idea that you subscribe to. i am critical of my country when it deserves it.....

I was just arguing with an islamophobe HS friend on fb about this topic, and decided to google how many people, in how many countries, were killed by US drones this week alone....yestrerday - American drones injured 2 students in an attack in Pakistan (killed up to 41 just a few days ago), killed 24 in a drone attack in Somalia (29 two days ago), and killed 9 people in Yemen. Those are stories from less than five minutes on google, I'm sure there are more. Over a hundred people in three countries you are not at war with, in the last few days alone. judge, jury, executioner.
    Then I came across a study publised in Pakistan yesterday, that claims over 80% of the 2500-300 drone victims in that country have been innocent civilians, while less than 2% are top militant targets.
    So yes, I agree with that statement. There is hope for you yet, militaryguywithamillionusernames.
