    hmmmm....

well, that is how an internet forum works........well for those that aren't just talking to ourselves......
it's kind of butty- in- ish when the question was not directed at you...
hey is that Biden syndrome too? ... oh boy is it catchy?

Exactly. This is not where you will get any valid info about either candidate/party. If you want to inform yourself on policies and such you go elsewhere.

A show, and a poor one too. Target the 'masses'. Content does not matter.
How our elected officials treat another human being is very important.
Showing consideration, integrity, fair play, good sportmenship,
these come into play in these debates.
Some just don't get how important that is I guess.
This is added of course to where they stand on policy.
Interaction in the world arena is very important,
this speaks volumes to who that person is and what is going on inside their head.
Biden showed little if any good qualities and if he treats others like he did Ryan
he should not be representing in our second in command position.

But again for some people good qualities are not as important as to others.

how politicians act on TV is not, and should not be, representative of how they act in real life. it's a very calculated SHOW.

I'm not so sure Biden will be forgotten. I won't forget, I will always know now when I see him
what he is truly like, nothing like I thought he was. He is a smug guy, he could have been
forceful with respect, kindness and knowledge. He didn't have to present like that.

I agree about Clint, he was my high point also.

Looking forward to tomorrow night. I love Obama's speeches perhaps he will be on his game.

Good for you that you won't forget and from one tv debate you have figured out how he's truly like, well again good for you. He resides in the Naval Observatory not the White House and he doesn't lead this nation the President does, no one really thinks of the VP as leading this nation, the closest he gets to anything by leading this nation is standing next to the President.

No really? I thought he was in the bedroom next to Michelle and Barack
yes and how many times did I say 2nd in command?
Saw a good one in the media ... 'after Biden's debate we better pray for Obama's good health'
    too true.

    funny stuff ...

To compare being a young nervous politician first time on stage like this to a senior and
2nd in command yikes! well one would think that senior would have been
a great example of a leader and a debater. He looked like a fool, though...
Who would have ever thunk it

I think it is very important issue because Biden is in the White House, he represents us,
he leads us. His presence, his persona, is an example of what we believe in to the rest
of the world. I guess we believe it's all a big f'n joke...
or is that just him being wacky? Nice....

Above....This is what you said to me and what I responded to. I must have missed it but I've never seen in this thread where you mentioned he was 2nd in command. To me He might have been obnoxious but that was his job to get down and dirty and he did it well. Somebody had to do the dirty work and Biden he was handed the job...that's the world of politics...there's no crying or whining in the political relm.

Obama's health is and will be just fine have you not seen that spot on lefty jump shot of his and he can hit a bank shot too? Swish 2 points. :D

Well... I guess some here would say Romney held himself well during the TV debate/show. Guess for some that would mean he has the skills and is the right person for 'interaction in the world arena'.

Couldn't be more wrong! His gaffes and blunders when he was in Europe made him a laughing stock. He was considered 'devoid of charm, warmth, humour and sincerity.' And, guess what, ill-mannered and offensive.

So I guess that debunks the theory of 'good performance on TV' = good statemanship!

This post is 'open' to all..... ;)

I don't want to go back and hunt yes I mentioned he is 2nd in command a few times.
I think that is a very important position no?

If Biden is an example we should expect no common courtesy, consideration or respect
either I guess. So you feel our President will behave as Biden did tonight?
No? because our President expected his right hand man to do the dirty work
and be disrespectful then? Really? they needed to do that to work a debate in their favor?
    Alrighty then :fp:

    I expect more...

Then again, I guess he didn't mention his 'mishaps' during the debate....

Dear? A bit patronising, are we?

You'd like to know when I speak? I talk all the time. Shall I raise my hand before I do so, so you are aware of the fact?

You are trying to deflect again. I debunked your point, you are trying to circumvent this. End of.

This new 'catchphrase' of yours that you seem to have latched on - this 'Biden' thing in your past several responses. Drawing parallels between him and several posters. I guess you like to think this is clever and witty. An ' inside joke. But it is all so transparent - an underhanded insult. We know what you think of him - a horse's ass. Not so clever anymore is it? No wit there. You are just too obvious.

Oh.. Here I should insert the mandatory winky guy to make it all OK!

wow testy ease up a bit...
    who's obvious? :fp:

not when you speak :wtf: the visit you speak of
simple question I wanted a date for what you were talking about is all.
Seems more like you are deflecting making it personal.
You spoke of a Romney visit I asked when?
you said I didn't know anything cause I didn't know when
I said I knew of a visit but would like to know what you are speaking of...
so again when is the visit you speak of?

Biden thing is just a comparison has nothing to do with my opinion of him,
taking that about three steps too far.

Well my President certainly made up for Biden's mistakes last night.
    That is how to debate.

Wow it was awesome! really enjoyed the exchange.
Was glad to see them both call each other out a bit without being terribly personal.

Questions were so so for me, thought the commentator did well except buying
into the Rose Garden. Now she takes it all back :?
Yes Libya is a confusing mess. We fuck up all the time, I'm
thinking one more but could it have been prevented, the deaths?
One could lean towards that just from this lack of communication...
    sad.

It is so close, so close, so close
With Obama doing well in the debate in my eyes, pointing a few things I agree with
the decision is harder than ever for me.
I was wondering if that was true for any of the folk there.

One more to go Monday in FL ... foreign policy...
    more Libya.

I rarely us the "no no"
only when I'm in my schoolmarm mood... wink

but the head palm is like the rolling eyes but not nearly as arrogant,
it is more astonishment and disbelief for what is being said,
not smug and demeaning like old rollly.

I often use the question smilie :? like now ...

What did you think of last nights debate?

I know you said you rarely watch and don't get much out of them, debates.
I don't mind saying that's hard for me to understand
cause you are here debating a lot.

Maybe just like to talk not listen? Maybe like to voice your opinion
    not share?

    I thought the debate rocked...
I wished it was longer, wished there were some questions from other sources too.
I thought they did equally well...
but for me my President was my President once again.
