hah! green disease. I love it.
great that the people leaving were giving their passes to PJ fans! was that free sushi? maybe corporate shows aren't so bad..0 -
Watching Ed try and get something out of this conference audience, I couldn’t help but think about the Vancouver show last year. Sometimes you just have to work a little harder for your money and expectations.Princess Bulldozer wrote:

Thanks for all your help yesterday. Enjoyed the time we spent together, and look forward to more in the future.
Princess Bulldozer’s desire, skill and tenacity got us on the island and in the venue before most others. She’s pretty good company as well. Princess, you are A++ people in my book.

Anybody else going to the Wal-Mart customer appreciation show this Saturday night in Arkansas?0

Mike seemed to be trying to make the best of it too and was just kind of laughing and shrugging his shoulders. I don't think you'll see them do something like this again any time soon. Green disease from this show should be next year's 10club single, lol

Hey Red Mosquito- I think you were standing next to me until Even Flow. You were telling me about going to the Montana show. I was thinking during DTE that I was glad to be next to someone who is a real fan. I figured you'd seen way too many Even Flow's and decided it was a piss break. Figured you'd come back. Glad you had fun at the back and enjoyed X as well.10/1/94, 6/22/95, 6/24/95, 9/16/96, 7/22/98, 10/21/01, 6/1/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 9/1/05, 7/15/06, 7/18/06, 8/28/09, 10/07/09, 10/3/12, 11/26/13, 6/18/18, 8/10/18, 5/12/22, 5/13/22, 5/13/24, 5/25/240

OK I guess I can re-post this here,
So this is only my second PJ concert (first time was in vienna 2006, such long time ago). I must say I was happy to see that the guys, although they felt the need to sort of apologize every once in a while for doing this kind of a show, put in their usual 1000%, and the show was just awesome! I loved the setlist, carefully chosen..
I don't know any of you guys, but I guess I could feel your presence around me, there were definitely some pearl jam fans in the crowed.
I too hated the blue hat section that was right in front of me (I was on the rail front and center. How can people eat drink and talk with their BACKS to the stage is just beyond me. How Eddie would sing his heart out and these guys would not give a...
But on a positive note I can say I've seen some people converted, meaning, stated off being bored and stuffing their faces, and ending up blown away by that pure energy. Well done.
I'm so wishing for a CA tour soon. I need to see them with a real crowed next time. Still happy I went - although funnily enough I discovered the tickets I paid for were fake half way through the show0 -

Right on, I do remember you! I was toying with the idea of going back but thought it would be too much hassle to weave my way through the crowd again. I had a good time in the crowd and it was nice being around people like yourself who knew PJ's music. I just figured that I couldn't get up any further at that point and there were two twin tower dudes who I could barely see over so just decided to cut out and relax in the back.
Good meeting you and maybe we'll see each other at another corporate event!

I'm curious I've seem both of you guys. I managed eventually to make it to the front row on account of being a short girl and begging for mercy.. It worked :oops:0

I think I remember you passing us!
Right on, RM. It was a bit crowded and hard to see over the tall dudes, but the sound was good there and we had some fans near us, so all good. I really expected to get right up front after KoL as I assumed it would clear out a bit between acts. Oh well. No real complaints. Bonus PJ show. I just figured out this was my 10th show since '95, not counting the half dozen Bridge show performances. First since the last LA show in 2009, so I was hyped to see them, even with at this event.10/1/94, 6/22/95, 6/24/95, 9/16/96, 7/22/98, 10/21/01, 6/1/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 9/1/05, 7/15/06, 7/18/06, 8/28/09, 10/07/09, 10/3/12, 11/26/13, 6/18/18, 8/10/18, 5/12/22, 5/13/22, 5/13/24, 5/25/240 -
I had a great time last night! Any time you can see Pearl Jam play is a good night! There seemed to be LOTS of KOL fans in the crowd;people were rocking out all night! And free beer!! SCORE!!!0

Free beer AND wine :-) Fabulous FREE night and lots of fun had by everyone. The evening started off a bit cold and blustery, but once the bands started playing and we all huddled near the front it was nice and toasty. I was actually surprised by how people were holding on to their places - I fully expected to be able to walk down to the barriers after KOL finished. I went for a pee/wine break after KOL and didn't re-unite with my wife until 2 or 3 songs into the PJ set. I was highly amused by Ed's failed attempts to coach the majority of the crowd into doing hand claps, signals and sing-alongs. Lots of PJ fans there though, and even those that weren't hard-code fans really got into the Ten-era songs (at least where I was standing). So, thanks Larry, for a great free night with a bonus PJ show !0

I'm simply grateful I got a ticket since it was a private show (it would have been pure torture to know they were in my town and I couldn't see them!). It was a beautiful venue at treasure island.
It was weird to see a PJ show with a bunch of people in the audience standing like statues (even up close). Thank god for the pj fans bopping around and rocking out throughout the crowd!
MIke's guitar playing behind his head on Porch was a treat to witness, and his hair was cut and styled as a mohawk! I always love Mike's energy at the shows, but again it was a bit disappointing that the crowd up at the stage was not very engaged.
The set was strong, especially for the type of show. I was pleased that Green Disease was played and that Ed made a statment about PTSD veterans and their horrific suicide rates - on average 18 per day. I admit it was a bit of a downer to think about at a rock concert - especially playing Come Back right after - but it was cool that he acknowledged them because I rarely ever hear people talk about it and it's an epidemic. Plus most all of their other songs were fast and high energy, so it all balanced out in the end...
I need a Hawaii show!!!!!!0 -

I would like to post one more thought on this whole subject of them playing a corporate gig. I was glad to see Ed use his time up on the soapbox to discuss and bring awareness on such topics as same sex marriage and the wounded warrior program. Not many others would do that if they found themselves in his situation trust me. They would of just gone up and played their required gig and collected their paycheck on the way out...kind of like what Kings of Leon did.
If Ed was able to get just one person in that elitist crowd to think about donating money or supporting one of those causes in some way, shape or form then he did his job and therefore shouldn't be ridiculed.0 -

Very well said Red Mosquito. Vedder had kahones to make the statements, and he did not have to do that. Most people, not even just the elitists, are completely out of touch with the fact that Afghanastan has been the longest war in American History. I've evalutated some of the veterans and PTSD is a very tough condition to manage, and they need as much support as they can get.0 -
