Huge. Both teams playing like shit right now too, but you can't beat meaningful September baseball.

Sox are living and dying with the long ball lately. Worked out well for them last night. Man do the Tigers play some awful defense....that was a real clown act out there last night. Gutsy performance by Quintana....looked like he was about to get pulled there in the 3rd. Got out of the jam and cruised the rest of the way.

the sox had the long ball going late for it was frustrating early. i think the sox had a runner in scoring position with less than 2 outs 3 out of the first 4 innings without scoring 1 run

jose q had a typical performance. the guy really plays with fire early and then settles down. i agree, gutsy performance.

and the pen sealed the deal. cant wait to sweep these bums! ;)

Yeah they were like 0 for 10 or something like that early in the game with RISP. It was brutal.

Nice for the pen to seal it without using Thornton and Crain who both pitched all 3 games over the weekend vs. KC.

Peavy on the hill tonight....3 out of 4 is a must for this series.

And Peavy gets fucked again. Didn't pitch great, but man this guy never gets any run support. I'll be there tonight w/ my boy Floyd on the mound :fp: Floyd is frustrating as hell, but hopefully his good track record against Detroit keeps up becaue we need it.

max is a strikeout machine but i hope the sox can get some contact off of that nazi bastard.

Well that sucked. Sale-Verlander tonight should be a good one. Gotta win tonight.

I think it was just something to try and turn things around after they got swept in Detroit last weekend.

I hate having to follow this game on gamecast. Should have called in "sick" today.

5 innings of 1 hit ball from the pen today...that'll be awesome in the playoffs

    ;)
  • Nice win today!

Now let's run away with this thing down the stretch!

    Magic # is 13.

Can't say I'm upset about Scherzer leaving Tigers game last night w/ shoulder issues.

Awful last night. Couldn't get a hit with RISP...kept popping out. Lead down to 2. Oakland isn't really helping us out right now...they have looked like shit the past 2 nights against the Tigers.

Can't believe the Twins swept the Tigers in a DH yesterday. Doesn't seem like either one of these teams want to win this division. Sox are 3 for 42 last 6 games w/ RISP. That needs to change.

just checked stubhub...with 10 games left in a pennant race, tix are going for as low as $1.49. worst mlb fans?

Well, that was awful. Can't expect the bullpen to shut em down for 4-5 innings every game. I knew that only getting 3 runs in that first inning with the bases loaded and no outs would come back to bite the Sox.

The crowds this week have made me embarrassed to be a Sox fan. No excuse at all. 20K for a game in the last week of the season when you're tied for first place. Fucking awful.

You really can't be that blind as to why people don't go to Sox games. Everything about the park, until you step inside absolutely blows. The neighborhood has ZERO to offer aside from the game. The parking lots are a joke, the Redline is now closed at 35th. People want an experience for their money these days. They should have built this new stadium around Roosevelt/South Loop before it was developed. It would be one of the best places in the US to see a game. Playing with the city behind center field would have been amazing, much cooler than in Pitt, and thats awesome. Why do you think people still go to Wrigley, its a fucking dump, disgusting ball park. But there is a shit ton of stuff to do around the park........

Oh god, here we go with this bullshit. It's a fucking baseball game, not an amusement park. You can tailgate prior to the game. They also have that bacardi @ the park bar/restaurant to stop by before the game. Red line isn't closed yet...I took the el to the game last week. I'm not trying to debate the location of the park. I'm just dissappointed in the fan base as a whole that they can only draw 20K when they are fighting for the division.
