Hilarious!
Anyone hearing the building rumour of PJ opening for Bruce in Moncton? Lots of talk here in Atlantic Canada of them opening. I don't want to start anything, just wondering if there's any substance to the rumours?
Thanks.0 -

as much as Eddie loves Bruce
and Bruce / Eddie & PJ,
usually noone opens for Bruce.
I seem to rememer a story abount Them trying it a while back in the 70s-80s,..
but the opening bands kept getting booed ,
and Bruce wasnt too cool with that,
so theyve been headlining since ( of course except for VFC, which was many headliners - but even then Bruce was main act )For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - You don't hustle the Boss.
Bruce Springsteen may have been shut down during a key moment at his London concert last weekend, but at his show in Dublin on Tuesday, the veteran musician got in the last word.
A few last words, actually. Springsteen started his set by picking up "Twist and Shout" at the exact point where local authorities pulled the plug on his duet with Paul McCartney at Hyde Park on Saturday, according to the BBC.
As he launched into the song -- this time without the ex-Beatle joining him -- Springsteen cracked, "Before we were so rudely interrupted..."
And the jokes didn't end there. Springsteen followed "Twist and Shout" by playing a cover of "I Fought the Law," hoisting a sign that read "Only the Boss says when to pull the plug."
He then staged a fake "arrest" scene involving a man dressed as a London cop later in the show.
Message sent. But despite his defiant stance, Springsteen was ultimately compliant when it came to sticking to the rules in the Irish capital, wrapping up the his performance before the preset cut-off time of 11 p.m.

Oslo 2nd longest show
http://www.nj.com/springsteen/index.ssf ... econd.html
Bruce Springsteen just keeps going for the Gold. Forget the Olympics, Bruce just keeps trying to outdo himself.
On Saturday at the Valle Hovin in Oslo, Norway, Bruce and the E Street Band played a 33-song, three-hour-and-47-minute show, just missing by a minute their longest show ever, 3:48 on June 17 in Madrid.
Among the 33 songs, was the premiere of "Ain't Good Enough for You" an outtake from "Darkness on the Edge of Town" which was officially released on 2010's "Promise" box set.
Bruce had played it once before, at the filming at the Casino in Asbury Park on Dec. 7, 2010.
Internet reports say it was played for a sign request, as was the tour premiere of "Streets of Fire."
Bruce again opened the show with an acoustic song, the fans in Olso got "The Promised Land." Interesting to see "Rocky Ground" being played in the middle of the set.
Also a tweet by @BobOverland said before Bruce played "We Are Alive" he said: "Where the sun never sets and no curfews. Llivenation can kiss our behind!" referring to what happened last Saturday in London.
The 33rd song of the show was "Night." I'm pretty sure that's the first time it has ever closed a show.
Show began at 7:34 p.m. local time (six hours ahead of New Jersey)
Set list:
1. The Promised Land (Acoustic)
2. No Surrender
3. Two Hearts
4. We Take Care Of Our Own
5. Badlands
6. Wrecking Ball
7. Death To My Hometown
8. My City Of Ruins
9. Spirit In The Night
10. Ain't Good Enough For You (sign request, Wrecking Ball Tour premiere)
11. Hungry Heart (sign request)
12. Streets of Fire (sign request, tour premiere)
13. Prove it All Night
14. Johnny 99

17. Waiting On A Sunny Day
18. Raise Your Hand

20. The River
21. The Promise (Solo Piano)
22. The Rising

To be fair to the organisers at Hyde Park, if they didn't fade the sound then, there's a high risk that their license will be taken away to have more shows in the years to come by the council.
Not that I'm in any rush to return to Hyde Park for a show - the sound is the most horrible in all the venues I've ever attended, no thanks to the council's restrictions on the decibel levels, the lack of any slope whatsoever, and the ridiculous mid-venue advertising structures that block out so much of the view.115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice?
