Kobe doesn't have to guard MJ at all LeBron has that duty, and you think Malone could stay in front of Melo? Drexler played defense about as good as Melo does. These teams are closer than most give credit for. Again I'd probably still say old guys, but this is 20 years of human athletic advancement on - LeBron would destroy every single guy on the original dream team. None of them had seen a Durant, Westbrook would cause problems for Magic. This isn't a blowout game.
Humphries back to the Nets. 2 years/24 million. Worth it IMO.
He's been coming into his own the past two seasons in a Nets uniform. If he keeps the trajectory, he's a worthy asset for his work on the boards and his ability to get double digit points per game.

i agree it wouldn't be a blowout....92 in 6
i disagree that leborn would destroy everyone....sure you put lebron on jordan, but lets remember, jordan wasn't eactly short and unathletic. from the blow by, the jab step back jumped, to the post game....he could score at will then, and he could score at will now.
like i said before, i'd love to see a in his prime pippen take on a in his prime lebron. lebron is just a tick taller as well as being stronger physically. but pippen was a lock down defender, we're talking all time great wing defenders. i could see him forcing lebron to pass the ball and make it difficult for a return pass.
at point guard magic would tower over anything that 12 has....and could play out top or in the post....that said, 12 would be able to break down the defense on penetration better...but robinson and eweing were solid back lines. also, if you wanted, you could slide magic over to lebron and pippen or jordan onto the point.
i think i'd actually like to see the 72 win bulls team take on the current dream team...there you get a uber confident group, that had one of the best D's ever.
Jeremy Lin's Departure Teaches Knicks Fans Important Lesson About Getting Excited By The Knicks
JULY 17, 2012
NEW YORK—Following the Knicks' decision Tuesday not to match the Houston Rockets' three-year, $25-million offer for point guard Jeremy Lin, depressed New York fans learned a valuable lesson about ever feeling even the slightest bit of excitement for their team. "Goddammit," longtime fan Erik Reid, 52, said upon hearing the Knicks had opted to acquire Raymond Felton from Portland in lieu of re-signing Lin, the team's sole bright spot in an otherwise forgettable 2011-2012 season. "I guess it makes sense when you think about the Ewing-Riley team of the '90s, the entire Isiah Thomas era, spending $100 million on Amar'e Stoudemire, LeBron James choosing Miami over New York, and basically every single management decision under James Dolan. Christ, I really should know better by now." As of press time, Reid had spent several minutes staring wistfully at his Knicks season ticket-renewal form before begrudgingly filling it out and putting it in the mail.

Revenue of up to $100 million is expected when the league allows advertising on uniforms. The league projection could be adjusted as individual teams and manufacturers to sort through all the variables in play in the major change. Replica uniforms would also include the advertising patches, which would be patterned after professional basketball and soccer in Europe with explicit limitations.

I'm through 2 1/2 parts of it, but ESPN has a very interesting and detailed six-part series about the Jeremy Lin story and the behind the scenes of it.

If the Wolves give Kirilenko $20 million for two years, he's really got to live up to that. He's a worthy addition to a team, and is really versatile, but personally, I don't see $20 mil for 2 years being an acceptable price tag.
He was over paid in Utah for the last season he played here.

Aren't there other major sports that have done this? Is it any different than the Nike emblems that are already there? I kinda view it the way I view band "selling out". If it doesn't effect the product I couldn't really give a rat's ass.
Yeah, it's gonna look silly at first but I'm sure the billionaire owners are generating money doing way worse stuff.
As a Nets fan I am not too happy that they open their arena and play the Knicks in the season opener. Ticket prices are now going to be even steeper and this should be a celebration of the move to BK, but now so many Knicks fans will weasel their way in

The only other sports I can think of are MLS and Arena Football.....teams that are desperate for income any way they can get it. It's one thing for teams like that to do it. But for a league like the NBA to start it is just plain greedy. Hopefully NHL, NFL, and MLB never resort to this.

Yeah, I'd rather them not do it but it doesn't bother me. I think we already knew the 4 major pro sports and the NCAA are a bunch of greedy a-holes. I don't think a 2.5"x2.5"square is gonna make me think that much less of them.

I guess I just find it unnecessary. I've been a fan of the NBA since I was a kid and I've always enjoyed a lot of NBA uniforms and do not want to see it tainted with fucking corporate bullshit, just because the owners and suitcoats of the league want some more money in their already fat pockets. Especially from companies that I could care less about. You have corporate logos and advertistements every god damn place in sports already. The court, the entire mechanism that holds the backboard and rim. The ball itself. All the advertisements within the arena. Right underneath the scorers table that is on television nearly the entire time the game is on. Then you have the copious amount of advertisements that are on during the broadcast.
If it results in less commercials during the broadcast, or even better, reduced tickets, than I can deal with it. But if it doesn't affect the already insane ticket prices, then I have a problem with it. If they're going to subject us to corporate logos that we don't give a shit about jsut to further pound it into our subconscious then I'd like to be given a break on ticket prices so I can afford to attend more than one or two games a season.
Just like people that miss the days of arenas and stadiums being called something like "The Boston Garden" or "The LA Forum", I will miss the days of uniforms that didn't have corporate logos on them right in your face. The jerseys today have Adidas logos on them, but they are on a tag at the bottom of the jersey. They aren't in plain sight, the only logo that is is the NBA's.
By the way Dewie, my post isn't attackign you, I'm attacking the idea of putting logos on jerseys. I hate the idea, and as you can tell, I hate it very much.

Likewise and I agree it is totally unnecessary but just like everything else it's gonna get more commercialized. I don't want it to turn into the Zatarain's Hornets or Viagra Timeberwolves but a 2" square isn't really gonna affect me watching a game too much.

I agree with everything you said. You know there's no way this is bringing ticket prices down. Like you said, every other facet of going to an NBA game is loaded with ads, can't we just leave the jerseys alone???? It's a shame too because there are some classic NBA jerseys (Bulls, Knicks, Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, Blazers just to name a few) that are going to be ruined by a stupid fucking ad on it.
Speaking of jerseys...what is with these team USA jerseys for the Olympics??? Those are awful.

Likewise and I agree it is totally unnecessary but just like everything else it's gonna get more commercialized. I don't want it to turn into the Zatarain's Hornets or Viagra Timeberwolves but a 2" square isn't really gonna affect me watching a game too much.
Tell us how you really feel.
You don't want to hear what I'd have to say to Emperor Stern. :corn:
