Just back home after the two nights and WOW!
I will try and stick to the first night was with a friend who is not really into them but I think I have converted him. He works in A/V and mentioned that PJ's sound guys must be up there with the best and they have some top-draw equipment.
Anyway to the show - If there was going to be rustiness they did their best to hide it. They were way more energetic that the last Euro opener in Dublin. 'Release' opening I just didn't know how to react I have wanted to see it for so long and kicked myself for not going to London 09 but I have now heard it. Lots of highlights and a lot of Ten and it was great to finish with 'Rockin' in the Free World'. As for the crowd I though they were great. There was a crowd lull during '1/2 Full' and 'Insignificance' but I suppose you can expect that. I loved 1/2 Full.
Poster not bad 1st night (sorry no pics) I snapped up a flag too. The crest t-shirt for Manchester is really cool and the flag has the same design on it. It will be going on my wall.Post edited by diamond_marmalade on2007 London

Just back from both shows. Will discuss show 2 on that thread.
First show was classic PJ warming up. It definitely wasn't the best time I saw them But Pearl Jam not firing on all cylinders is still better than every band ever
I felt the set was a little too pedestrian (my humble opinion) with not enough songs with oomf, yet again it was still incredible and worth every second. If the crowd was a little lacklustre then it was definitely down to the set.
Pilate was cool to hear as was Arms Aloft.
Poster was so so awesome

My second time seeing PJ live Wednesday night and i more than enjoyed it still completely in a daze now!
My first time encountering Ten Club members and all can say is they are one BIG group of the nicest people ever
Even when i had a ' i'm getting crushed cant breathe moment ' i knew i would be ok to slip back a bit without any hassles.
Fantastic night was gutted couldnt go to both nights specially after seeing the set list for the 2nd night. But saying that hearing Release for the first time ever live more than made up for that i could have gone home happy after just that one song!
Roll on July now for 2 nights with EV

Without a doubt my favourite night.Amazing, watching the crowd with the lights on during Rocking In The Free World was spine tingling,I couldn't stop smiling.“There should be a place where only the things you want to happen, happen”0

Fantastic show. My 16th. We had very nice seats immediately Stone's side, 5 rows back. Thank you, 10C! I had hoped Ed would join X for New World, but they did not play it. I was already crying with the Philip Glass intro music, and then Release just finished me
. I have been privileged to see some great shows this spring, including Jack White and Radiohead. I'd compare those shows to PJ in these terms: With JW and Radiohead, it's like going to hear a lecture from someone you think super-highly of. But with PJ it's like seeing your old best friends. There are few things in life that make me as happy as attending a PJ concert
. Anyway... I did not hear any new songs, with the exception of the Buzzcocks cover and that made me realize how privileged I have been. I am so grateful for this passion and for the ability to see them as often as I have and at least once a year in the past 8 years. The point is, as much as I would have loved to hear Crown of Thorns finally, songs like Corduroy and Given To Fly are in themselves worth travelling 12 hours as I have done.
Hilarious that I have heard Pilate and Nothingman two consecutive times
. I adore the passage "Stunned by my own reflection..."
The solos during Evenflow, 1/2 full, and Immortality were perfect. It was really a great show.
For those of you complaining about the length of the show... I am a little younger than them and moved around a lot less, and was Exhausted! I am happy to trade shorter shows with another 20 years of live music

As a fellow Cornishman, it was nice to see the crew member Pete from Cornwall get another mention! I remember he also had a mention in London 2007! :P

No, he didn't mention the guy by name....just pointed him out in the crowd and and said something to the effect that "...this song is a dedication for this guy here....can't remember if you said you were coming tomorrow night...but we'll do it now just in case something terrible happens....you never know, life is fragile so we'll play it now" words to that effect anyway.[/quote]
He pointed!
I would literally pass out. Then come to and start sobbing.
Wow. Very cool! Thanks!
More fanviews please! Thank you!

Just want to give you more detail :0 ,he actually said"There is gentleman here...":) and he talked for a while, looking at him obviously(know that for a fact because was in third row just behind the lucky guy:)) about that that they were going to play it night after etc. Well,he had cool poster,so deserved great deal. The best revenge is to live on and prove yourself EV

Great night!!! Loved everything about it.Bless PJ for starting with Release
Don't really get some comments here about setlist being short or crowd quiet. They've played for as long as they could. And the crowd?I guess it is up to where you were.In my case it was third row, just behind the guy who Come back was dedicated for. So,from were I was it amazing, great energy, great people to start with.Difficult to maintain, but worth every bruise:) And it only got better night after:) The best revenge is to live on and prove yourself EV

good to see I can finally login.
So we had 10c seats for this and they were GREAT, could see the whole band beautifully and all their interactions between each other as well as with the crowd/room including our section. Although I've seen how hard Ed works to connect with everyone from the pit before, seeing him from the elevated seats, He worked SO HARD to project to every single part of that ridiculously large venue, Well Done Ed this is part of why we love you so much. I really enjoyed the set list I know some die hard's weren't as keen but I was very happy, Release always makes me cry and Come Back completely floored me, I cried so much it took all of Jeremy to recover. I was there for night 2 as well and the two set lists together were PERFECT, great balance of shows I felt like they were perfect accompaniments. I go home super happy to have got so many songs get buzz from the band a wonderful 2 days with my PJ Family, If I have to wait 3 years again, these 2 nights will see me through. THANK YOU PEARL JAM xxxxx~~~~~~~~~~ PINK FLUFFY LOVE PSYCHO~~~~~~~~~~

Juts back in dublin today after 2 unforgettable shows. Was up the front for the first night and nearly lost my life. I had a fab time. loved immortality form first night. was hard to think it was the bands first show in 9 months. they were tight. Crowd were very well behaved. Loved it.
i wish i wish i wish i wish, i guess it never stops0 -
Having missed out on PJ20 last year it was a really welcome sight to see the lights go down and Philip Glass to boom over the PA. I've wanted to stand in a room and hear Release played since that Atlanta 94 radio broadcast and I had a good feeling it would open. It sounded amazing to me, best version vocally I've heard in quite a while. I get shivers remembering the moment the intro started. DTE and Corduroy were really solid and got the crowd up after the slow start. They know how to get the most out of a crowd and playing The Fixer, Given To Fly and Small Town is always going to go down well with the more casual fans. Pilate was a nice surprise and I can't say I ever pay attention to other fans reactions but everyone around me was certainly having a good time.
I still don't understand the need to refer to Even Flow as a piss break and I'm so bored with people who say "Meh!" If you don't want to stand and watch Mike tear up that solo every show I think you must have something missing! He was in great form throughout the show. I still fail to get too excited about Unthought Known although it's a nice enough song but it linked Even Flow and Nothingman really well and Nothingman itself was lovely as usual.
1/2 Full and Insignificance were great back to back and it gave me some hope for getting a taste of more Binaural/Riot Act songs over the two nights. Insignificance is such a full on song and the sprint to the finish has that same great intensity you get from songs like Habit or RVM. Better than the Belfast 10 version by far. I loved the little Why Can't I Touch It intro to Immortality and despite a false start we got a fantastic version with Mike's very sweet solo. The set seemed to have flown by after standard runs through Got Some and Why Go and I was really impressed by the energy although some thought they were a bit lax? All fears of Ed's back pain returning had gone and he seemed to be enjoying being back in Europe.
The first encore of Just Breathe, Black, State Of Love And Trust, Arms Aloft and Porch was very much like I expected it to be and I don't want to belittle it with only a few words but Porch was the major standout here.
Encore 2 was just as entertaining if not better. I loved actually hearing Ed singing the whole intro to Betterman and Paul's well documented Comeback really made the night special. Great crowd singing for Jeremy and Alive and my first ever RITFW was beyond my wildest expectations. Stood with a great crowd in a joyous mood and wore myself out a bit for night 2 but I'll not forget this ever. I think I'll appreciate this show a lot once I hear the boot. Good times...

This was my first Pearl Jam show and all I can say is WOW!
I travelled down to Manchester alone, after breaking up with my ex a few months ago so this was just what I needed to lift my spirits. My spare ticket wasn't wasted though...someone I've become friends with through the Pearl Jam family (although only I only met her on the night of the show) came along and we had the best time!
From the moment they stepped on stage I got all teary eyed! I was hoping they'd play Jeremy as it was the song that made me fall in love with the band and I was so pleased when they did. I didn't care what they played, I just felt lucky to be in the same room as the band!PJ Manchester MEN - 20.06.12
