    I am so sorry for what happened to your daughter. You are obviously a very caring dad. She is lucky to have you there to advocate for her. I hope you let the abuser have it to the fullest extent of the law. Just don't do anything that would take you away from your daughter. She needs you!

    Hats off to you for keeping your cool and doing the right thing. Whenever this much emotion is involved, you have to involve the authorities. I'm very sorry to hear about what your family is going through. I hope everything turns out ok.

    Do not take the law into your own hands. That has never worked out well. It will lead to lawyers and courts and bail and emotional, financial and physical stress and all kinds of crap you really don't want to deal with.
    Let the police do their job... do not interfere with their investigation... do not make contact with that criminal.

    I overheard yesterday two men talking about this case and they would do the same thing....I would too being for many years a single father raising my daughter.

    My only question in all this is.....was their proof of sexual assault to his daughter other than what the father said he saw and walked in on? What if the father is not telling the truth? Is it just a given that the father is to be believed...or were their tests done on the daughter that backs up what the father witnessed?

    I like to question everything.

    Thanks for all the kind words everyone. UPDATE: THEY ARRESTED THE SCUMBAG THIS AFTERNOON. My hands to the police for the fast turnaround on this. He goes for a bail hearing tomorrow at 10:00, the officer doesn't believe the judge will grant him bail. So only makes me wonder what kind a record he has. I'll be there, I need to let him know that prison is probably the best spot for himself at the moment.

    I'm so sorry to hear this and it's great that this arsewipe is going to jail. I'm sure when they find out what he's in there for, they'll hurt him pretty badly. My cousin is in jail and he reckons that when they find out about pedophiles, they make sure to bash the living crap out of them.     They dont have the sex register offender list here in Ontario, and I believe all of Canada. Still protecting the scumbags

    You did the right thing. I cannot come close to imagining the rage you must have felt, but you did the right thing. You need to be there for your daughter right now... that is the important thing. You must remember, your daughter's well being outweighs the pain you are going through. She needs her father... be there for her.

    Yes help is what you need and not just from the police. Your daughter needs help to resolve
    the shame she may have for causing this, though not her fault. Kids they want to please,
    daughters so much so for their fathers. You need help to know how to best help her
    and resolve your rage that may even escalate in time.
    Seek counseling for you, her and anyone else involved.

    I hope your bond that grows from this will be, in time, the positive that remains.

    Talk to the District Attorney's office and ask them to request a restraining order that restricts him from coming within X number of meters from you, your family, your home, etc..., just in case he makes bail.
    If he violates the restrainng order, CALL THE COPS... he's going to jail.

    Here's the thing...you would get charged (and maybe convicted) with pre-meditated murder. This guy walked in to it happening and reacted. No jury in their right mind(s) would convict him. If anything, it would be considered temporary insanity. Not worth it, dude. Let the law take care of him.

    I'm so sorry this happened to your daughter, I can't even imagine the rage/hurt you're going through. The best thing you can do for your daughter is be there for her and get her the help she's going to need. Have faith in the justice system (and karma) and know that this guy will get his.
