god damn people. montreal was great, but ottawa was ridiculous
to clarify mike on the alive solo, he exited his side of the stage w/ a few bodyguards and played/walked along the "boards" to the opposite end of the arena and then back! eddie was smiling and going nuts on stage after he realized what was happening
i was at buffalo and state college in '03...this show was on that level, i swear to god
in hiding was perfect
wash was perfect
poster is fucking amazing
great time all around...can't wait to hear this show again
well worth buying...great crowd interaction...
greatest band on the planet. we're lucky bastards0 -
been a fan since the start and this was my first show. yeah yeah
It goes without saying they did not let me down they were blistering from the outset. The crowd well was as usual unappreciative of what was going on. Happy to say that our section was up the whole show. Had seats on Stones side of the stage, I was a little worried but it was a cool perspective. The set list was fantastic I missed Evolution, but I can Hardly complain.
The house lights were on for the last two songs I'm not sure if that is a regular occurance or if the Corel Center was saying "that's enough already", but they just kept going.
I'm 35 and have been to many many shows. I've been to a dozen or more Dave Matthews shows and this show has to rank in my top five.
thank you fellas for a great night.0 -
Did anyone else notice when Mike started playing the "Over the Hills and Far Away" riff in YL, Both Stone (scratching his chin in disbelief), and Ed (just lighting a smoke) looked at each other, and then at Mike with that look on their faces that said "shows over Mike, what are you doing!" Stone even looked back to his guitar just in case he might need it!

The house lights being on is a regular occurence. The band knows how die-hard their audience is and I'm convinced it is their way letting the fans know their leaving for good this time! Notice on the 2003 boots close the end Ed keeps saying "Keely!" He is telling their light guy to turn the house lights on. I really like it and it adds to the show.Barrie '98

Just stepped in from the 2 HOUR AND 50 MINUTE SHOW. I think this show topped Kitchener! So many highlights to share . . .
Hearing fuckin' WASH, GO and NOT FOR YOU for the first time . . .
Watching Eddie sitting on the stage on Stone's side, smoking and drinking his wine while Mikey scorched his Even Flow solo . . .
Mike & Boom DUELLING during Crazy Mary (Mikey ran over to Boom's side, stood right beside him and his B3 and they duelled: Mikey would play a few bars, then Boom would match him and play a few, then Mikey would play again, followed by Boom etc.) . . .
Mikey fuckin' RUNNING DOWN THE FLOOR during his Alive solo, just in front of our section . . .
Save it for later tag on Betterman!
The show never seeming to end - the freakin' 2nd encore was nearly as long as the first set!!!!!
The show ended at 11:50pm by the way!
.....and more to add but I am so tired (the show exhausted me!). I need to regroup, organize my thoughts and add more tomorrow! Good night and thanks PJ for the best show of the tour so far . . .
damn those canadiens dont get 2 see pj much Go has to have been played numerous timesLet's not be negative now. Thumper has spoken0 -
Hey! yesterday was such an amazing night!!!
about everything was said i think....but this..in the beginning Ed was having a hard time with his mic...and he just kick the mic stand down and was looking really really pissed off!!! Some tech guy came on the put it up but ed made a move to the guy to say "forget it!!!" For the next 2 minutes maybe he was really mad !!!
Anyone else noticed!??!
and here's some pictures that I and a friend took! Some looks very nice, others a little blury...but kinda cool anyway! Enjoy!!:D

I apologize, if I am rambling. In the past 3 days I drove 700 miles and partied to hard. Last night was amazing. The setlist was fantastic and the band was on fire. Thought it was 100x better than Montreal. First off thanks to tenclub for great seats for the past 2 shows.. Got to sit in the Penalty box which was a cool perspective. The floor and the section behind me were rocking out. Thought it was a good crowd. Wash as an opener was shocking. Definitely unexpected. Appreciated by the penalty box. Hail Hail, Animal, Go, Brain of J, In Hiding rocked out hard. The band was on tonight. From my perspective the energy from the band was unbelievable. Everybody was in great spirits. Chatty Ed which is always a good sign. McCready was moving around like an animal. Lot of the jams were tight and exploratory. It was obvious that the band and the crowd were having a fantastic time.
Dont Gimme No Lip - Holy Shit. Fan Club goes nuts. Stone with just the mic was cool to see. He reminded me of a pimp fuckin daddy the way he was singing and having fun with the crowd. Crowd was having fun singing along.
Immortatility- Matt Cameron enough said.
Jeremy was hilarous. Ed completely fucked up the lyrcis but the crowd still loved it. It was pretty funny to see. Black was awesome. Loved how they continued on after the song was over. Crazy Mary was intense, arguably the greatest version I have ever heard - boom and mike holy cow.
Sleater Kinney - I am not a fan of theres. Musically they are talented, I just dont think they can sing. That being said, unlike several show in 03, they added to the encore. Backing up singing for Harvest Moon and Leaving Here was a great touch. Free world was fantastic.
Time to crash. PS Old man with the flashlight on the floor. Please lighten up during the concert and not go crazy about the red line. And Ottawa City Bus Company. When it is pouring outside and you have busses lined up, please let people in them next time, instead of waiting for buses to leave.0 -

OMG what a weekend. Unfortunately I am done for this tour but I'm glad I was able to make Montreal and Ottawa. I was laughing so hard during DGNL. I was the funniest/coolest thing I think I've seen them do in a long time. Mike was on fire all night.
What a fucking set!! Wash, Brain of J, DGNL, Bee Girl, Harvest Moon, I Got Shit!! I have no voice today.
How can this band just be getting like this year after year? Just an amazing two nights.

Amazing shows, both Montreal and Ottawa! I can't beleive I missed Mike go into the crowd! These guys were on fire both nights! Alot of people have been posting about how much energy they have on this tour and how much fun they seem to be having, and the last 2 nights were no exception. I agree with the others who said that the Ottawa crowd just didn't seem to bring it like Montreal did. Amazing setlists - both nights! 59 songs! They're going to need this w/e off. Met some great people staying at the Holiday Inn. B and J, and B and L, hope you had safe travels home. It was my first trip to Ontario and was pretty blown away by how genuinely nice everyone was. Alright. Bring on ther Maritimes! Is it Thursday yet?I will feel....alive....as long as I'm freeeeeeee...0
