    Change gears here. I found this rule online.


    In the middle of a game, a ball from the bullpen on the third base side goes onto the field towards the left fielder. He retrieves the ball, runs it over to the substitute catcher in foul territory and hands it to him. While the left fielder is in foul territory, the pitcher delivers the ball to the plate in the game. Should the umpire have called time-out?

    yes.

    if memory serves, only the catcher is allowed to be in foul territory for a pitch.

    maybe the ump technically shouldn't call time out, but defenders are suppose to be in fair territory, net of the catcher., although he should have called time out when the rouge ball went on the field

    Still not correct. Answer the question at hand not concentrating on the events leading up. Player in foul territory and a pitch is delivered.

    late 80's, early 90's (but griffey was actually my next favorite non phil as the juggler eased his way into the 1990's).

    a couple hints:

    the player i'm referring to also played out west....was also left handed...and was also known for his sweet swing.

    this totally gives it away. anyone?

    He did have a sweet swing and could have done some serious damage if he ever played for the Yankees. I liked him. He's no Don Mattingly though. :lol:

    The batter gets to sleep with the outfielder's wife/girlfriend and the pitch is called a ball.
