no record store anywhere close to where I am, I have been looking for one or ages now. I caved and bought the Ed single on Ebay, $45.

Went down 1/2 an hour before cactus music opened... lineup was around the block.. waited until an hour after they opened the doors and the line had barely moved... so I left... I figured by the time i got to the table there would be nothing left anyway, and frankly I've got better things to do than spend my saturday standing in a 3 hour line-up...
RSD fail!
But I know that you can get both the Uncle Tupelo and the Metallica online, so I'm not really too concerned... I won't get the EV, but oh well...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
3 stores including one that opened at midnight last night. Got:
EV (Just played, recording very good LBC excellent. Much better than version I remember from Wiltern)
Brad
White Stripes
Devo
Grateful Dead
Janis Pearl outtakes
Miles Davis
MC5
The Knack
Leonard Cohen
Couldn't go. Wife wouldn't let me buy anymore vinyl. I really only wanted Brad and the Empire Records soundtrack.

Other than Brad (which i'm not a big fan of) nothing else PJ related made it up to Canada.
Which means I didn't buy any thing off this years RSD list. Luckily that record store had posted online exactly what they got in. So instead I started out at a record store 2 blocks away. They weren't participating in this years RSD sale, but to celebrate they had a 50% off vinyl sale!
I picked up:
Nirvana - Nevermind Singles Box Set (I think this was left over from last years RSD) - $30
Led Zeppelin III - Used Vinyl in Great Shape - $22.50
The Who - Who's Next - $10 - Looked New but old release? No one puts those celluphane circles on vinyl sleeves anymore. It was in new/mint condition but I can't figure out its origin
La Bamba - OST - $4.50 - A favorite of mine from being a kid in the 80s
Back to the Future OST - $4 - also a favorte from the 80s
Tool - Lateralus - Limited Edition Picture Disc - $35
Dayglo Abortions - Little Man in the Canoe - $9
Dayglo Abortions - Two Dogs Fucking - $8.50
Bruce Springsteen - Used Boxset - Live '75 - '85 - 5 LPs - $15
Soundgarden - Ultramega OK - $7.50
Record Store Day is pretty fun. Allthough if Lyle's Place hadn't done a 50% off sale, it would of been a bust this year. (seeing as the RSD releases I wanted didn't seem to make it to Canada).
Grateful Dead - Dark Star LP

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals LP

What's all this talk of a swag bag??? I didn't get one :( I posted over on LD, here's my stash 5 hours and 3 stores later (only Brad, none of the other PJ-related ones, BOO).
1. Brad 7"
2. The Clash London Calling 7"
3. Pete Townshend Quadrophenia Demos Part 2
4. Devo Live in Seattle 1981
5. Widespread Panic Live Wood (for JK36392)
6. 311 double LP
7. The Breakfast Club Soundtrack
8. Pretty in Pink Soundtrack
9. Florence + The Machine 7"
10. Garbage Blood for Poppies 7"
11. M. Ward 7"
12. Springsteen 7"
13. Black Keys El Camino
Eddie Vedder
Brad
Blitzen Trapper
Grace Potter
Tomahawk box set
Also picked up Queens of the Stone Age's Vinyl Firsts, B-Sides and Remixes. It's a white marbled vinyl, very cool.
I was walking around and the owner of the store pulled me aside and said "I've got your copy of Eddie Vedder behind the counter". I was blown away! They only got 5 copies in stock and he was cool enough to hold me one. I know that kinda screwed somebody else out of getting one the fair way, but it made me so happy. I never asked him to hold it for me or anything but he knows I love PJ and he knew I'd be there today. It's reasons like that that I'm a customer of that store for life.

I REALLY wanted the Flaming Lips' Heady Fwiends record...I got to the record store at 9am when they opened, and the Lips' record wasn't there yet - they were waiting on FedEx to drop their shipment of 8 off. I turn my back for 45 seconds, and in that time they arrived, and they all got swept up...

I totally forgot to look for Blitzen Trapper while I was there though.

Damn, my store had quite a few of The Flaming Lips. I wanted it but it got cut to save some money.
I haven't even opened Tomahawk yet. I wanted it but I honestly didn't plan on buying it because I thought it would be too expensive, but $40 for 3 albums, I couldn't pass that up.
