    Champion!!!

Not what I needed to hear. I went thru a nest of baby blueies when I was about 10. Had about 300-400 tiny little (pin head sized) mongrels all down my arms and some inside my wetsuit around my neck.

Still haunts me hey. Ill still go out when there is blueis but Ill paddle like a maniac when I see one. My mates still think its funny to flick them at my when walking along the beach.

Think I might stick to lower QLD then. Thanks Zig appreciate it

Fuck that!!!! I've never been stung....never want to either!

Yep, stick to lower QLD if you want to go surfing, swimming etc at that time of year.

It's not a good feeling being stung.
A mate of mine was out surfing a couple of years ago, dived under a wave and emerged with bluebottle tentacles covering his face and wrapped around his arms.
Wasn't a pretty sight.................... we did laugh a lot though :)

SHIT!!! I hope you had vinegar to splash on it!!

What shits me off here is every now and then some dickheads go and empty all the vinegar bottles that are stationed every 100m or so along the beaches! So dangerous!

I just remembered that my mum used to always take her own vinegar to the beach when we went when we were little! HA! I suppose with 5 kids jumping around, good chance of being stung!

They now reckon that vinegar doesn't work on stings. They reckon that applying heat is the best way to treat it

Great, so we're all going to have to take battery operated hair dryers to the beach now! ;)

Hmmmm....I think I remember reading/seeing that the irukandji doesn't respond to vinegar....but I'm sure they still recommend using vinegar for box jellies, bluebottles etc.

I better go check this out! I might get stung one day and I won't know what the fuck to do....

Wrong....heat "may" work better on bluebottles but for lethal marine stingers, use vinegar.

  • Hows everyone doin!

just got home from work! I've been in a no-internet mood lately where i find it hard to find things to do.. Its weird how that happens everynow and then, maybe its the cold..

I always check the setlists of the US tour, but its over now.

Glad they brought back Gods Dice! hopefully they play it here, cause its high on my "wanna hear list"

I wanna hear severed hand/corduroy back to back. Cause they are my two fav rockers that I never get sick of.

my first memory of leaving the waters cos of sharks was at Karakalinga when i was small, eeeek :o

I shat myself a couple of years ago down the beach.
I was down there with my mates for a swim and there was a sandbank about 50 - 100m out, so I decided to swim out there. When I eventually got out there, I stepped up onto the sandbank and raised my arms Rocky style to my friends who were standing on the shore. My friends then proceeded to wave their arms and shout out "Shark! Shark!". At that very moment I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head and saw a fin gliding through the water a couple of metres away from me.
At that precise moment in time I think a little nugget dropped into my undies, and the realisation that I was gonna die a horrible painful death dawned upon me. Alas though, all was not lost, because when another fin surfaced I realised that it wasn't a shark but a pod of dolphins (about 10 of them). I then decided to swim back to shore where my dickhead mates were rolling around in the sand laughing hysterically. They'd seen the dolphins a while before they'd yelled out "shark" and decided to pull a prank (which i fell for hook line and sinker)
Hopefully that's as close as I get to being near a shark

Guy said the AVO is hardly selling and its in their new release section thats screams at you when you walk in the door. Told him to start promoting it.

Yeah I agree. Most stores are promoting the shit out of crappy Stadium Arcadium and are leaving the Avocado to rot by the wayside

    while we're discussing shark stories..

Last time I was at my bro's in Townsville we had a day diving out on the reef. All was goin well till my bro shot a fish about a metre long which was eaten from either end by 2 whaler sharks about 2m long in the space of about 30 seconds haha. An hr or two later I shot a fish of a similar size in a different spot which I had to hold in a bear-hug to subdue..as this is happening another whaler shark bout 2m smells the blood and continues to swim up at my bro and I aggressively at about 45 degrees to literally the end of our flippers! haha Both spears were still in the fish so we were defenceless for the swim back to the boat...was quite a quick swim mind you :o

    2006 :D
