Great, so we're all going to have to take battery operated hair dryers to the beach now!
Hmmmm....I think I remember reading/seeing that the irukandji doesn't respond to vinegar....but I'm sure they still recommend using vinegar for box jellies, bluebottles etc.
I better go check this out! I might get stung one day and I won't know what the fuck to do....★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

Wrong....heat "may" work better on bluebottles but for lethal marine stingers, use vinegar.

I always check the setlists of the US tour, but its over now.
Glad they brought back Gods Dice! hopefully they play it here, cause its high on my "wanna hear list"

I shat myself a couple of years ago down the beach.
I was down there with my mates for a swim and there was a sandbank about 50 - 100m out, so I decided to swim out there. When I eventually got out there, I stepped up onto the sandbank and raised my arms Rocky style to my friends who were standing on the shore. My friends then proceeded to wave their arms and shout out "Shark! Shark!". At that very moment I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head and saw a fin gliding through the water a couple of metres away from me.
At that precise moment in time I think a little nugget dropped into my undies, and the realisation that I was gonna die a horrible painful death dawned upon me. Alas though, all was not lost, because when another fin surfaced I realised that it wasn't a shark but a pod of dolphins (about 10 of them). I then decided to swim back to shore where my dickhead mates were rolling around in the sand laughing hysterically. They'd seen the dolphins a while before they'd yelled out "shark" and decided to pull a prank (which i fell for hook line and sinker)
Hopefully that's as close as I get to being near a shark0 -
I wont even start on the shark thing.

Yeah I agree. Most stores are promoting the shit out of crappy Stadium Arcadium and are leaving the Avocado to rot by the wayside0 -
Did anybody know that former PJ drummer Matt Chamberlain plays the drums on the Finn Bros. album0

while we're discussing shark stories..
Last time I was at my bro's in Townsville we had a day diving out on the reef. All was goin well till my bro shot a fish about a metre long which was eaten from either end by 2 whaler sharks about 2m long in the space of about 30 seconds haha. An hr or two later I shot a fish of a similar size in a different spot which I had to hold in a bear-hug to subdue..as this is happening another whaler shark bout 2m smells the blood and continues to swim up at my bro and I aggressively at about 45 degrees to literally the end of our flippers! haha Both spears were still in the fish so we were defenceless for the swim back to the boat...was quite a quick swim mind you
