Oh I agree with you - I'm quite certain that we're all nuts! Just seeing that the double beds were sold out already made me giggle. Guess it's just a testament to how amazing last year's Labor Day was. If I get any chance to do that over again, I'm on it, I don't care how crazy I look!

The Comfort Suites was that bad, huh? I'm sure the Super 8 isn't all that much better, but if it's where the party's at that's where I want to be!

Dimi I sure hope you booked your room!!!!!

Sigh...I hate being such a chump/sucker. In a span of about 4 minutes reading this thread, anxiety got to me. Super 8 Delavan booked. Friday 8/31 through Monday 9/3.:lol::lol: Seriously. What a sucker I am. Mamasan convinced me though...

By the way, anyone else notice that the email confirmation also came from "Don.O.Treply?" Same guy who sends out 10c emails? Coincidence?

Made the right move- no risk in being safe. Now we just have to hope for some good news in April or May about a fall tour.

When I got the email from Mr. Don. O. Treply I was convinced that it was FATE!

Guys,PJ Labor day weekend IS happening at Alpine Valley. This year and next year are done deals. Multiple sources through the Sherrif's dept at Walworth County have confirmed it. My cousin is a police officer there and a huge PJ fan. He told me about PJ20 and the 3 year deal there in Feb 2011. Get your rooms. You've been warned.

I don't see any reason why they would have to sign a 3-year deal, but maybe they did. Either way, I won't be there. Sorry, I just don't have any desire to spend my long weekend in but-fuck nowhere wisconsin. My trips to the midwest will continue to be for Lolla in August...

I guess that's going to be Pearl Jam's one US show every year for the next 3 years... cause if they do a tour of the east coast they won't have a prayer of filling the place...

Those are some big assumptions. It could very well be the start of a tour, similar to Canada last year. And if it is considered the "Chicago" shows, it will still sell tickets. I don't think it was 100% filled last year

    Those huge assumptions!

I was just poking fun. wasn't serious. I would say 20k for 2 nights is a very reasonable number. It obviously won't be the draw of PJ20, but 20k is probably about right... I just figure if it's only going to be 20k, chicago's gotta have an outdoor ampitheater in town somewhere that's atleast 16-18k, right? why not play there and have the chicago tour shows in chicago? ;)
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

tinley park but it's south of the city. toyota field, but it's a soccer venue. pretty sure all the other outdoor venue's are quite a bit smaller

and given the choice between alpine and the United Center, give me alpine

Way back in the days of the AET radio show, didn't Tim mention they were looking into making the weekend a yearly thing?

I can't remember. I wish the AET show was still on every week! I'm not sure they would want to do this every year but it does sound reasonable that they might have signed up for a 3 year deal in order to get their way on some things for PJ20.

I believe PJ would have chosen a different venue for PJ20 if AV was pushing them into a 3 yr deal.

I didn't book a room last year and I regret it IMMENSELY. I won't make that mistake again! And hey, if it doesn't happen, then I cancel. No harm no foul!

Sounds like this is going to be the party hotel again... hehehehe

8-) Double rooms sold out already!

I'd like to think double rooms sold out means that 10C took the rest for travel packages once they got wind we were already booking ours. ;)

Toyota Park was designed to also be a concert venue. It's not "just" a soccer stadium. I've never been to a show there, but I've heard good things from people who have. It holds something like 28K, but there's no covered seating.

He DID say that..but he did not say that it would be in the same place each year..that was left to the imagination.
