Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Booked my hotel at AV today. The rate is $110, but will get bumped up to $215 if there is a concert that weekend - which the reservationist made clear to tell me probably 5 times when I talked to her on the phone. AV still is open on Labor Day weekend, so they know there will be a concert there that weekend and even the reservationist was joking with me about the rumors of PJ playing there that weekend.....they are well aware there.Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

It was a great trip and a wonderful weekend. Wisconsin was cool.
However that was that. There is no way that PJ21 at Alpine will out-do or be better than PJ20 at Alpine. From personal experience, in our party days, the greatest parties that my friends or I have thrown always failed if we tried to replicate them shortly after.
It would be cool, but not the same electricity. It wont be as much of a pilgrimage for everyone.
Personally, Ill splurge on a different location. I would love to go to Gorge. Maybe somewhere in Cali. I would love to hit Seattle again, etc...
Exactly. They couldn't even sell out PJ20 there on a holiday weekend.
It looked pretty close to sold out to me, especially while I was taking a piss on the side of a fence and watching people jump the fence to get in! lolSound Advice Amphitheatre - Apr 11,2003, House Of Blues Orlando - Apr 12, 2003, St. Pete Times Forum - Apr 13, 2003,Silver Spurs Arena - Oct 08, 2004, Cruzan Amphitheatre - Jun 11, 2008, St. Pete Times, Forum - Jun 12, 2008, Alpine Valley Music Theatre - Sep 03, 2011, Alpine Valley Music Theatre - Sep 04, 20110 -

You boys get all the fun
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols0 -

Who cares if it wasn't sold out, is that really important?
The place was packed from what I saw. Maybe they didn't sell all of the lawn area but who cares. PJ21 at Alpine I dont see it happening but I see them coming back soon very soon.
We shall see.

The place holds something like 37,000 people for a normal show. I'd imagine the capacity was reduced somewhat because of the Ten Club area at the top of the hill.patrickredeyes wrote:Who cares if it wasn't sold out, is that really important?

I don't know what the official count was, but what I heard was that they "only" got 28 or 29 thousand each night. Considering the price of lawn seats, I'd have been absolutely shocked if they did sell every single ticket.
If they do play AV on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend, I'll probably sit on the lawn one night and pavilion the other so ideally, I'd like to see about 20,000 people there so it's a good crowd but I still have room to move.0
