I did a search to stay from that Saturday through Monday and here's what it says: Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, you must do so by 04:00 PM 09/01/2012 or your credit card will be charged for one night's stay.

    I'm looking at this one:
    Super 8 Delavan
518 Borg Road, I-43 to Hwy 50 Exit 21, Delavan, WI 53115-2019 US

    Same one, right?

i just looked on the super 8 site and see what you are seeing....

Are people seriously booking rooms for this?

I'm shocked, given all the bitching about no U.S. shows; if people are booking rooms for Alpine right now, it seems like people are pretty sure there's going to be U.S. shows, right? So was all that bitching a few weeks ago because we actually think there won't be any shows, or because they're just not announced yet, or because they're not playing in everyone's hometowns? And now we're booking rooms for a rumored weekend...in the U.S.?

This place never ceases to amaze me.

The people at the hotels will be hoping PJ announces this more than anyone with all the calls they will start getting.

I could easily see it starting a fall tour, and then they head through the mid and southwest to the west coast. Or the south and east coasts.

I didn't book a room last year and I regret it IMMENSELY. I won't make that mistake again! And hey, if it doesn't happen, then I cancel. No harm no foul!

Funny if the hotels/motels get fully booked by PJ fans. It turns out in June that Soundgarden will tour Canada those dates and suddenly all the hotels looses the bookings :)

I just received an email from AV stating that my reservation for Labor Day weekend has been given a rate of roughly $125 a night. There was a disclaimer that should that weekend become a concert weekend then the rate will change. Anyone else who made reservations in hopes receive this? Also, roughly when did PJ20 get announced? Has to be close to this time doesn't it? Any help.....

OP ~ which hotel are you talking about?

where is everyone else booked/booking this year?

i'm about to book but wondering where?

Really wish they'd just make an announcement if it is going to happen. Save us all the constant speculation. But I suppose no annoucement would come if they aren't going to play there.... ugh.

I wouldn't expect an announcement before May/June since it would probably involve planning a fall tour as well.

I know the rumor has been out there for some time, and I completely understand why booking ahead is a great idea. I booked my hotel for PJ20 last year about 2 weeks before the official announcement.

But I'm still amazed at the severe schizophrenia this board has sometimes; some of us are completely convinced that the guys in the band are not even US citizens anymore (cough*sawyer*cough), will never play the United States again :o and have completely ignored the US has been for too long :cry::cry:. Then there are others, optimistic spirits that you are, who are confident enough in the accuracy of the AV rumors to book rooms. Maybe the people booking rooms on this thread are not the same ones complaining (in fact, I'm fairly sure that you aren't), but it still amazes me.

    That's what I meant.

Thanks BigRed...I won't be shy anymore. If these rumors persist, it will be irresistible for me to NOT book soon.:lol::lol:

Mamasan, I booked two weeks before the announcement last year and got a shitty, buggy hotel in Delavan. Comfort Suites I think? Yuck.

Room for lots!!! I'm SO having a hotel room party!!! :lol:8-)
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

Oh I agree with you - I'm quite certain that we're all nuts! Just seeing that the double beds were sold out already made me giggle. Guess it's just a testament to how amazing last year's Labor Day was. If I get any chance to do that over again, I'm on it, I don't care how crazy I look!

The Comfort Suites was that bad, huh? I'm sure the Super 8 isn't all that much better, but if it's where the party's at that's where I want to be!

Made the right move- no risk in being safe. Now we just have to hope for some good news in April or May about a fall tour.

By the way, anyone else notice that the email confirmation also came from "Don.O.Treply?" Same guy who sends out 10c emails? Coincidence?

 See you at the party!!!

When I got the email from Mr. Don. O. Treply I was convinced that it was FATE!

Dimi I sure hope you booked your room!!!!!

Guys,PJ Labor day weekend IS happening at Alpine Valley. This year and next year are done deals. Multiple sources through the Sherrif's dept at Walworth County have confirmed it. My cousin is a police officer there and a huge PJ fan. He told me about PJ20 and the 3 year deal there in Feb 2011. Get your rooms. You've been warned.

I don't see any reason why they would have to sign a 3-year deal, but maybe they did. Either way, I won't be there. Sorry, I just don't have any desire to spend my long weekend in but-fuck nowhere wisconsin. My trips to the midwest will continue to be for Lolla in August...

I guess that's going to be Pearl Jam's one US show every year for the next 3 years... cause if they do a tour of the east coast they won't have a prayer of filling the place...

Those are some big assumptions. It could very well be the start of a tour, similar to Canada last year. And if it is considered the "Chicago" shows, it will still sell tickets. I don't think it was 100% filled last year

    Those huge assumptions!

I was just poking fun. wasn't serious. I would say 20k for 2 nights is a very reasonable number. It obviously won't be the draw of PJ20, but 20k is probably about right... I just figure if it's only going to be 20k, chicago's gotta have an outdoor ampitheater in town somewhere that's atleast 16-18k, right? why not play there and have the chicago tour shows in chicago? ;)
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

    in chicago...no.

tinley park but it's south of the city. toyota field, but it's a soccer venue. pretty sure all the other outdoor venue's are quite a bit smaller

and given the choice between alpine and the United Center, give me alpine

There's no doubt we're all crazy, but there's no risk involved here, you can just cancel the room if the concert doesn't happen. You guys are making me anxious too, I'm looking at Super 8 website now

Way back in the days of the AET radio show, didn't Tim mention they were looking into making the weekend a yearly thing?

I can't remember. I wish the AET show was still on every week! I'm not sure they would want to do this every year but it does sound reasonable that they might have signed up for a 3 year deal in order to get their way on some things for PJ20.

I believe PJ would have chosen a different venue for PJ20 if AV was pushing them into a 3 yr deal.

I didn't book a room last year and I regret it IMMENSELY. I won't make that mistake again! And hey, if it doesn't happen, then I cancel. No harm no foul!

Sounds like this is going to be the party hotel again... hehehehe

8-) Double rooms sold out already!

I'd like to think double rooms sold out means that 10C took the rest for travel packages once they got wind we were already booking ours. ;)
