Heading out to brunch, but one last story, so right after the show starts a fan runs up and throws a W mask on stage. Ed picks it up and puts it on the microphone next to him. He's a bout to play but says he can't with W watching over his shoulder so he turns the mask around. Later during the Into the Wild part of the show, his guitar tech turns the mask around. Ed messes up a song and in the middle of it knocks the mike down with the mask on it. After the song he picks the mike up, puts the mask on his hand and apologizes to it and offers it some tea. The mask says no, Ed puts the mask next to head and then he says W is looking for the wine and beer, but that's backstage and then Ed heaves the mask to the left to the backstage area. It was just a comical little sequence of events that played out over a few songs.

  • How funny was it when after Ed had the family out on stage said something like "I hope they don't show us up... we're fucked." And then goes "Oops... We're poopied. That's how you have to talk when you're a parent."

Pretty funny line and I'm sure mine wasn't verbatim but it's close enough.

Great fucking show. Ed going on his own for a short tour was a great idea and gave a lot of us fans who weren't old enough to grab a fan club membership back in the beginning of the band a great chance to experience Ed up close.

Thanks again to the 10c for the 2nd row center seats.
Okay... seatbelts. Just put the little thing into the big thing and... I tell ya what. If you don't know how to fasten your seatbelt, just raise your hand and I'll have Tommy Boy here come back there and hit you in the head with a tack hammer because you're a RETARD.

Oh, during Liam Finn's set, someone spilled an entire glass of red wine on a girl in a white shirt. Yikes! They were cool about it and bought her a poster and a tee shirt. I feel like maybe drinks should have been relegated to the lobby. Oh well!

    What an amazing experience!!!

That was my girlfriend and I who were spilled on. She got it much worse than I. It was a crappy situation. I could tell the spillers were horrified. They just got to their seats, werent drunk (as far as I could tell) and it was just a mistake. It looked like my GF was a murder victim though. We really didnt know what to do, but the guy met us up in the lobby and he gave us some loot to replace the ruined poster and a shirt for my GF (plus a little more, but my shirt was still wearible for the night). I felt kind of bad accepting it, but I didnt have enough cash left for the cash-only souvineer stand. I actually feel kind of worse for the spillers than us.

As far as we are concerned, the chodes yelling shit all night put a darker mark on our night than the wine-spillers. The yellers are not funny, amusing, or impressive. Eddie gets annoyed, and it affects the show negatively for everyone. Not to mention it makes you look like a douchebag. Its unbelievable that some human adults are so dumb and havent yet evolved enough to figure out not to yell stupid shit in a situation where 1,799 people are going to be pissed off at you, plus the man you paid a lot of money to see is clearly requesting you stop.

Other than missing the 2nd half of the Liam set, which we were enjoying, the night couldnt have been any better. We were in the 5th row, left side on the aisle. By far the closest I have been to Pearl Jam. Ear to ear smile the entire show. I was hanging on every note and word. I cant even list a favorite part of line, the whole thing was fucking unbelievable. Im not sure if I can go to another show ever again.
My expectations were pretty high for this, and it exceeded my expectations ten-fold. I think I Am Mine sounded the most impressive, and I really didnt expect to feel that way. All the ITW songs were awesome, Parting Ways.... cheers to the dude who talked Eddie into playing it before the show. Lukin was insane to see solo.
I loved the ARC ending to the encore 1 and it continues while Eddie says 'goodbye' and keeps going for awhile. Then they come out with the new background and the fog, lights, labcoats for Hard Sun, Eddie stands and rocks out as if it were a sold out arena/ampitheater.
As I said, I cant pick one part that 'i liked'. The entire deal from start to finish was just surreal.
Oh and nobody mentioned the lone mosquito he told us about that kept biting him when he was putting together the setlist, and the subsequent itching we had to witness all night on his forehead and arm.

Thanks to Eddie for doing this tour at these venues and putting his all into every show. Its amazing how long he plays at such a high intensity. Thanks for the great seats 10 club. I couldnt ask for a better night.

The filming was a nice surprise.... as someone said before, it would have been nice if the few jerks out there kept to themselves... They they had a few cameras... the ones I saw were HD cameras (i actually own the same model they used).

Hopefully they'll be out again tonight!

  • This show was awesome. One of my favorite concerts. Note to whoever is going to the show tonight or th rest of the tours. Don't yell out song names you want to hear while ed is telling a story that is fucking rude. Let the man speak. Also like another poster said stop getting up every 20 minutes to pee and get more to drink.

Yeah....that was great though...he just kept calm and said "Alright guys, it's way to early in the night to piss me off". Classic

I'm so glad they hooked you up. There was a point when you, your GF, and the dude who spilled were all gone. The blonde was just sitting there trying to hide, sipping her drinks and looking guilty and sheepish. I was in the center section so I had a view of the situation. But seriously, I felt like I was in a detergent commercial! When does that shit happen!?!

Agreed about the shouters. Ugh. But, the show was too incredible for that to spoil it...I keep thinking about it! Very special stuff indeed.

The idiots screaming in the crowd really hurt the show. I saw Santa Cruz in April and that crowd was wonderful compared to last night. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable to hear "footsteps" "go Cubs" over and over. The guy beside had about ten beers and didn't say a word. You can't blame everything on alcohol. It was simply a bunch of fools that don't know how to behave.

That was the guy behind us who did it- very cool people, we chatted with them a bit before the show. They wrote "Masters of War" on Bush's forehead.

Show was good overall- Eddie seemed to get a bit irritated with the crowd though. Hearing Parting Ways was definitely the highlight of the show for me. Venue was very nice, but we were freezing during the entire show- FYI to anyone going tonight, wear something with sleeves!

And I'll add my crowd rant: The guys in front of us (who, by the way, were two of the shouters) kept getting up, which was really irritating- but the worst part came when one of them had a cell phone conversation in the middle of Masters of War- I could literally hear the girl on the other end of the line talking back to him. Not cool.
  • Anyone know what version of Small Town was played at the intro of the show?

We were asking the same question at Montreal 2. We thought it was some a local Montreal performer that was used.

We didn't think it was Eddie because of the voice/accent.

Oh yeah, I'd like to know about this version of Small Town too. :D

I am curious about that whole "little girls on stage singing songs" part of the show. Can someone elaborate?

Ed played a CD made by four children. It was really cute -- a song about helping the world by recycling & such. Ed brought the kids on stage, and then their parents. The dad is in the military, and had passed Ed a note after a concert saying that he wanted to meet him.

Why didn't we think of the note thing? Ed seems like he's making friends with the fans. I'm all for new friends!

HEY! I was at a private party today. Do y'all remember Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe? He played for us today. I told him we saw Ed last night and he said he would LOVE to see Ed in concert. Anyway, I told him that Liam opened up and he was praising Liam. He said he's seen him before on a late night show and he really liked him.
So did another musician I met today. His name is Eliot Morris and he praised Liam as well. And then Eliot said, "Why can't I open up for Eddie Vedder?"

    ;)
