So, I'm looking to do a TV upgrade. Have had a 50" 1080p for 5 years now...while it still works, it def doesn't look as good as it used to and hardly compares to current models. Any good sites for ratings on new TVs? I'm looking not to get bigger, just upgrade. Any suggestions? 50-55" range...
Also, I'd like to get some $ for my old one...Craigslist is flooded with TVs...not sure what to do with this thing if I can't sell it... :?

One word, Samsung. Also, go the LED route if you can squeeze it into your budget.
Make sure you go at least 120hz or 240hz refresh rate.

We bought a Sony Bravia 55" LED 3D Internet TV, model KDL55HX820 on Friday night.
Was meant to be delivered yesterday but we now have to wait until tomorrow.

I'm being told the LG's ULED technology is better than what Samsung uses? This is news to me as I've always been under the assumption Samsung is the best and my last three tvs have been Samsungs. My buddy from work, who's a real techy kind of guy, recommended that LG one and compared the picture of ULED's to the old school plasma's.

Anyone else have an LG OLED?

Because they have fancy schmancy more advanced models now.
These are perfectly good.  Go to a Best Buy and check em out.  I don't see the reason to spend 2k although I am not a tv nerd.

We just replaced our 7 year old Samsung with a new Samsung. Great deals on TVs for BF/CM.

The thing that stood out for me with the Samsung 7 years ago was how natural and lifelike people looked on them. The LG, Sony and Vizio all made humans oversaturated and fake. More like CGI people than actual human beings. (Games and anime might look better on those though. I don't know.)

That still appears to be the case now. Lots of impressive displays at the store but the Samsungs still look more realistic to me.

Haha.....welp, I actually exchanged my LG CX for the Sony x950H yesterday. lol

I agree with Mr. Dudeman up there. The OLED picture is about as clear as you can possibly get. I mean I was blown away by it. But, I think, because it is so crystal clear and no blur, the picture constantly jutters and stutters as each frame goes by. It was giving my wife and I headaches. I think the problem is made worse by streaming services such as youtube tv, which we recently switched to as well. The LED's  are not quite as bad with that.

And my old tv was a Samsung. So I was debating between that and Sony and the guy at Best Buy convinced me Sony is the better brand, currently at least.

That sounds awful and I get a sympathy headache just picturing it.
