"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.
Another thing I think would be cool to do is give local fans priority and seniority.
This won't work unless they tour the whole country, otherwise every one in the south is screwed.
True, but maybe each person could pick their "local" show. I'd prolly be shut out of anything local too. I live 100 miles from any city they've ever played.
Another suggestion/idea...
In those cities with multiple gigs... flip the seniority.
Example:
Night One... ascending seniority, 000001 to 999999.
Night Two... descending seniority, 999999 to 000001
...
This way, even if your number is 479,432... on Night Two, you have a pretty good shot at the first few rows.
Abolish the controversial Row 1,2,9,10 lottery to eliminate any thought of unfairness and/or favoritism.
...
If there is a Night Three... random order. The little envelopes with our names on them... mixed in a barrel... pulled and stuffed in a random order. The first envelope pulled gets the first pair of tickets... pure and simple. No time and too much effort for cherry picking names and tickets, so there are no grumblings or accusations or denials.

Count me in with those who do not want a lottery system. Its not always about internet connection, its also about effort. I see people on the form bitching about getting shut out 10 minutes into the presale while I'm still refreshing and working the presale ticket page. Sometimes it took 30 minutes or more before the buy button popped back up and I was able to score tickets, but I was rewarded for my effort. I've only been shut out once and its not because I have the worlds fastest internet connection. I put in the extra effort that others did not. I understand that not everyone can be on their computer at a certain time of day, but that's just how it works. Ticketmaster tickets go on sale at a certain time of day...not everyone can always be there. Its just the way it is.
With the lottery everybody puts forth the same effort and has the same chances. Ticketmaster isn't really known to do things the fairest way. Still, they usually do a pretty good job with their onsale times being at a time when the most people are available to buy.
I'd also like to hear more about the "sabotage" with the signed boxed set and rows 1,2,9,10 ticket lottery.

Not necessarily a matter of physical location... more about a SINGLE Selection.
Example: I live in L.A. I can choose L.A., if I want to. I can also choose Council Bluffs as my ONE pick. It means the possibility of a better seat... but, it also means airfare, airports, hotel, ground transportation and vacation days. So, i choose L.A. because I live here and can drive to the gig and sleep in my own bed afterwards.
I must decide which is more important... dumping a bunch of cash, or just enjoying what comes my way.

No solution is perfect but this is much better than what we faced for Alpine, for early in the Canada sale, and for every Northeast show in the last several years.

Ticketmaster usually puts tickets on sale at 10am local time. Most people with jobs are at work at that time. 95% of all tickets go on sale at a set time and its never going to work for everyone. If I want to buy tickets to a show in Europe, I would expect to get up at 3am if I live in America. They can't placate everyone.
That being said, I don't think you should need refresh and spend an inordinate amount of time trying to buy tickets either. I just don't understand why they have not been able to figure out a viable way to sell their fan club tickets.
As for "Sabotage" and lotteries not being lotteries - I think there are going to be conspiracy theorists when the 10C says entries will be randomly selected through a computerized process and somehow it takes 10+ hours and we get "updates" saying we're still drawing names. I've yet to understand that one.

Aren't most onsales Saturday mornings? There's one place I get tix for that has their onsale at 5pm on Fridays and that works great, too.

Some are on Saturdays, but just like all the EV tickets, most are on Fridays.

Agreed. However I wouldn't mind a higher amount of shows we could attend though depending on the length of the tour obviously.

I was surprised that you could only get 10c tickets for one EV show. I would imagine this won't be the case for a PJ tour.
Anyway, I'm fully in support of the lottery system. I don't see any negatives to it at all.

The EV shows are in super small venues which is mostly the reason.
what??cant afford?school?work more???
what are talking about???i live in greece,livanon,africa,whereever...internet isnt the same in all the planet
and in some places presale time is at 3 am always...
my money per year is the same as your...internet connection must NOT have to do with scoring tix...
10c club get it....they made their choices..glad they did...
You seem to not understand, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt with the language barrier. We pay the same money per year and get an equal opportunity at tickets in the current system. I’m sure you can get a better internet connection, no matter where you are. Why not arrange for a friend in another country to help you? Getting tickets at 3AM would be a blessing, it’s much tougher to clear meetings off my schedule during the day. Rather than just give up when you face adversity... find a way!
Actually not everyone has access to a computer at 2pm on a Wednesday so no we don't all have the same chances. Not to mention your comments are downright offensive.
I’ve addressed this multiple times already. I’ve gotten 10C tickets while on planes, because I made arrangements for someone to do it for me. I’ve taken vacation to get tickets, I’m sure some people have called in sick. I've moved meetings on my calendar during the work week. I've gotten tickets on my smart phone. I've driven to work on a weekend to get a better connection. I've learned little tricks to enhance my chances. I’ve put forth the effort required to achieve what I wanted.
Not quite sure what is offensive about my comments?

Everyone wants something for nothing. They would rather have a chance at a lottery than put in any effort.

Don't waste your breath D - I am in the same boat as you...I have had success (patience, persistence, flexible scheduling and some luck) overall with my 10c tickets. I have been shut out, but overall have done well. The system was, and still is, BROKEN. This EV lottery system is a great way to go about the EV shows and I do wonder about how a similar (not exact) system would work for a PJ tour. I think a variation of it could work and be a big improvement, but who knows - and there is certainly no perfect system.
There are, for the most part, two groups:
Group A: Like us D, we can work around the sales, get access to a good connection, and have a loooong block of time to sit in front of the computer to keep after the tickets - although I know you've been even luckier D by getting tickets right away before the system collapses!
Group B: They can't work around the presales and if/when they do, the system crashes and then they are looking at calling in "sick" a second day, or just giving up after wasting their day. I've been there, and it's depressing.
But make no mistake, most of those in group A will kick and scream to keep it the way it is, because they've found that "loophole" that gives them the leg up.
There should be some kind of point system - everyone gets 1000 PJ bucks per tour. The shows which are in highest demand cost the most PJ bucks....so if you want to get to the MSG shows that tour on your 10c membership, well it is going to run you in the neighborhood of 500 PJ bucks. Want to hit that show in Biloxi, MS? No problem! Only 100 PJ bucks. If you want to tour with the band for 3+ shows on your 10c tickets, youll just have to aim for the smaller markets or deal with the public onsale.
Keep the ticket process for the Ed and pearl jam tours a lottery....Until they can make it fair for every fan club member.....But, for pearl jam tours it should be like 5 shows per a fan club member via fan club tickets..

So PJ should schedule US ticket sales based on your Greek time zone to make it more convenient for you?? When you live on the other side of the world and want to buy tickets in the USA, its not too much to ask to have to wake up and buy them during normal local hours. I would expect the same when buying tickets in to anything in Europe. I don't understand that argument.

Seems like things are getting out of hand here IMO. This is a business that is American based. How in the world are the fine folks who run this fan club supposed to accommodate every timezone? It just isn't possible. They set the time for ticket sales. They can't be expected to run a 24/7 operation. I am sure they have lives/families/ ect. We all want to see the band do what they do so well. We just have to adjust our lives to accommodate whatever is best for the workers of the club. I have ordered tickets from work. I have ordered tickets from the parking lot at work with my phone. I have taken vacation time to get tickets...where there is a will....there is a way.

nothing getting out of nowhere..we are talking about the problems the presale with the old system had and how with the new system things are better..and problem like that, timezone ,speed internet, crash site and etc solved now..i can be online here more than everyone else,no matter what time is the presale..i know better what there is a will, there is a way means...im not seeing the trees, but the forest..im not expecting the times to be my time zone...personally i dont care..if i wan tto be online,i will..no matter what...
i understand everyone likes and respect it,but i can see clearly that the new system is better,,thats all
time will tell..10c will let us know how they will run their business, personally,if i want to score tix for a show,i can see days with out leaving my pc....but thast doesnt mean,i m better fan than anyone else..
scoring tix to see your favorite band live, must be pleasure and not a torture

That didn’t answer my question. I’ll address yours though, because that’s how discussions are supposed to work. First off, if I was really in to a band based in say Greece, I wouldn’t expect them to cater fans in the United States. In fact I would be very happy if they gave US fans any consideration at all. Second, it’s extremely fair that for your $50 a year, you have the same chance to put in time and effort to get tickets that everyone else does. It doesn’t get any fairer than that. It all goes to you definition of fair. My definition is that everyone has equal opportunity to benefit from personal effort. Your definition is that everyone has equal opportunity to benefit with no personal effort. Living in Greece, I don’t see how you can’t understand why that is such a bad thing. You keep brining up presale hours, which I don't understand because I have already debunked this myth. I would prefer to have a presale go in the middle of the night, when I don't have work or family commitments, and internet traffic would be generally less.
Let me put this another way. We both want a big screen TV (10C tickets). There are only so many big screen TVs (10C tickets), not everyone can have one. What the best way to decide who gets one? Should there be a big screen TV lottery, and people get one based on no personal merit, just out of luck? Or should those big screen TVs (10C tickets) go to those who want them the most and have earned it? I think that answer is pretty clear.
you shouldn't need dedication or initiative, for more than 22 seconds, to try to buy tickets to any type of concert ever.
Sounds like you'll go far in life.
LOL at those that have missed out on 10C tickets. I'm not the only example that proves that with dedication and initiative you can get 10C tickets 100% of the time. It's the perfect system, putting tickets in to the hands of those who want them the most and are willing to put in the effort.

when we both pay the same 50$ for the big tv,the one should get it is the one wins the draw, and not the ones lives in a more big city,or have fancier car.

Please explain the initiative to you being successful in a presale and someone being unsuccessful in a presale.
As I see it, if a presale starts at 5pm everyone who wants tickets logs on a few minutes before and then attempts to buy said tickets. Pretty quickly (within seconds) the system jams and people end up refreshing trying to get the system to work. Now whether you get tickets in the 1st second, 1st minute, 1st 10 minutes or 1st hour isn't down to initiative its down to luck.
At the end day the system used for Prague & Berlin 2 and for the new EV tour is a hassle-free way of buying tickets. And that has to be a good thing.

Hail, Hail!!!
Hail, Hail!!!
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
Alpine Valley Resort is etched in my brain!!!

And the people in the middle get screwed both nights!
im NOT talking about me...
i can have internet fast connection..
i can stay in front of pc 365 days in the row when it comes to pj...
trust me...if you dont believe me,ask around..
BUT..the problem is we talking about fair system for all..cos you score in the previouis system,as i did too
doesnt mean is fair..
was a torture..and unfair..lottery is easy,fast and more fair..and seems 10c get it..they run things..not me or you..
i would love to see this system stays..

How is it fair to punish those with initiative and reward those who lack it?
of my internet speed connection?of my working hours,?on the pain of my ass after 8 hours infront of my pc?
of having them in my card and lost them?of presale hours isnt good cos of the continent i live?

you shouldn't need dedication or initiative, for more than 22 seconds, to try to buy tickets to any type of concert ever.

Thanks...I didn't know that....But, will the tickets for the pearl jam shows be lottery or not?...Thats the question...

I don't understand that argument.
im talking in general..even the shows are in usa, even europe ,even australia, the presale
is always the same, seattle morning time..
is different that you dont understand, than you dont want to understand..
seems the second is convenient for you..
the good part,is 10c will run this and not the fans...and they know better and what works better

I have taken vacation time to get tickets...where there is a will....there is a way.
i understand everyone likes and respect it,but i can see clearly that the new system is better,,thats all
time will tell..10c will let us know how they will run their business, personally,if i want to score tix for a show,i can see days with out leaving my pc....but thast doesnt mean,i m better fan than anyone else..
scoring tix to see your favorite band live, must be pleasure and not a torture

Sounds like you'll go far in life.
LOL at those that have missed out on 10C tickets. I'm not the only example that proves that with dedication and initiative you can get 10C tickets 100% of the time. It's the perfect system, putting tickets in to the hands of those who want them the most and are willing to put in the effort.
as for my country, was an exable,,ill be in the venue to see pj,even if i need tio hit f5 for the rest of my life..
but again,im not talking about myself..about what is fair in general
