Not happening. They couldn't sell it out.

PJ plays plenty of places that they don't sell out.

41,159 is current capacity and they could pull in a crowd big enough to suit having a show there.

I dont think they are interested in having any concerts at Wrigley that won't sell out.

I'm not saying PJ will play there, but let's not act like it's some pipe dream. I agree that the schedulers are Wrigley are probably lookin for a name with more clout but I also think there's probably at least a little hope for the fans that want it to happen. They got 37k at Alpine for 2 nights on Labor Day weekend so I don't think it's that farfetched.

Not like you have to sell it out to have a show there. This would be Eddie's dream and I think he would sacrifice a little money in order to play there.

EXACTLY! Just like Eddie playing a solo show in Albuquerque!!!

Wrigley holds 37,000 for a baseball game...

Throw another 5,000 fans on the field for a concert......

    42,000 or so???

Pearl Jam couldnt sell out Wrigley.....

you'd be taking seats out behind the stage depending on how stage is setup, usually in center field for basebasll stadiums. for Wrigley probably all bleachers in the outfields would be empty so you are back to around 37,000 which is do-able. and id be 90% more likely to hit up Wrigley than the woods of Wisconsin

Instead of Wrigley, what if they just went across the street and played a gig at the Metro!

I think they could sell it out or come very close. There are a lot of PJ fans that will obviously buy tickets. However, its also a lot easier to get a casual fan to go to the show when its right in the middle of the city in a fun part of town. I live in Chicago and I honestly think a lot of bands could sell out Wrigley because people want to go for the experience.

On a side note, here is my prediction: Eddie opening for Bruce when he plays Wrigley in September.

You can try and talk yourselves into anything. They are not going to play there. The place is a dump anyway I don't care how historic it is. Imagine the line in at their 4 troughs in that stadium.

I think a lot of people could agree that Wrigley is a dump. However, it was not dumpy enough to stop Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews or Roger Waters from playing there. And, as a big Cubs fan, I think Eddie would give his left arm to play Wrigley, or at least care about it more than those named above.

    cmon... really??

i've been to both... but booze and age prevent me from remebering the dumpy side of wrigley?

plus trying to navigate to the seats from the top of the slippery lawn in the dark is still fresh in my mind..

Wrigley is worse only because it has not been updated the way Fenway has since the current owners bought the team. Wrigley today reminds me of what Fenway looked like when I was a kid.

That said, hope both places get a show.

Here's the thing - Roger Waters just announced a 2nd date at Yankee stadium...in all likelihood he'll be doing that at Wrigley too. That takes up their allotment of 2 concerts per season. So can this talk of PJ at Wrigley in 2012 stop now please?!

You will forget the Alpine situation when you see the Wrigley situation, unless you like troughs.

As I said before, I dont PJ will be playing there this year, but maybe Eddie solo as an opener for Bruce Springsteen. Matt Cameron might be there as well as he was the drummer on Bruce's new album.

It's not even the trough thing...it's the lack of bathrooms. You have to walk what seems like a mile to get to the bathroom from most seats.
