I'm going to have to go with Unthought Known, although the rest of the album is pretty damn close. Force of Nature seems a little bland to me.
I really hope they keep going in the direction of Backspacer. I know a lot people here don't like it, but Binaural through Avocado were just too much of Debbie Downer albums.
I'm at a point in my life where I don't want anymore overly complicated songs about death and war. I want catchier, optimistic music. They've wrote more than their fair share of songs dealing with the darkness.
We need at least one more Backspacer album before I'll let them get all gloomy again. Riot Act is one of my favorites, but It's an album I can only rarely listen to. Backspacer can be listened to every day.
Force of Nature followed by Johnny Guitar...Alot of the rest I find middle of the road(Amongst the Waves, Just Breathe, Speed of Sound) to horrible(Unthought Known(boring with awful lyrics), Gonna See My Friend).
I agree, great lyrics! I especially love the line "see the waves on a distant shore awaiting your arrival". Reminds me of heading down to the caribbean

I've just never liked lyrics that come from or sound like they come from an Incubus song. "Gems and rhinestones"??
