I didn't watch the video read the article ...
what was up with "you ruined my f.... time I'll f.... kill you"

was this really random or a revenge beating

so much anger so much hate
  • What also needs to be stated is the fact that these guys relentlessly worked that kid over with the greatest collection of weak punches and powerless kicks ever assembled. They are such a group of suburban wimps that their collective strength couldn't break wet tissue.

Trying so hard to be 'gangsta'... but failing so miserably. Just a pathetic group of fools.

Charge the parents while we're at things! Don't you know where your kids are?

Hats off to the victim- by far the strongest young man of the lot. Hell, even after being assaulted for 4 minutes... he outraced them to safety.

what i don't get is ... why would these kids post the video??

i've obviously heard of kids getting rolled for their shoes and shit but filming it and posting it on youtube indicates to me either these kids are really stupid or that the culture there lends itself to that bravado ...
We're a culture of violence. These kids are on the extreme end of acting out the violence but fairly representative of a pervasive attitude about violence. Movies, games, TV shows- the kind of things many people spend much of their time doing- are saturated with violence.

    We are A Clockwork Orange.

Wow, those kids may as well as sung 'Singin' in the Rain' while the kicked and slapped the poor guy. Good imagery provided with that statement.

When I see this sort of thing, I can't help but wonder where society went wrong in the last 30 years. When I was a kid, parents taught their kids to fight, to defend themselves from the playground bully because fights were common and bullies just needed standing up to.

We're a much more violent society since the 80s. What the Hell happened to us???

Currently, if you hit someone at school you can get into huge trouble. I was told the same thing as you -- smack the bully in the eye, take your lumps & next time they will start trouble with someone who wont fight back.
If you told your child that today....and the child was bullied at school, smacked the bully in the nose and broke his nose I can almost guarantee your child would be at risk for expulsion from that school and if they repeated what your instruction was on how to deal with a bully that they would press you for being wrong as well.

I 100%^ agree with your post and feel that bullying would be tolerated less (and maybe not get to the point that this got to where the poor guy had not change to fight back) if kids were allowed to stand up for themselves.

Come check out Ireland. You go out on a random Saturday and you will see more fights than you have in your whole life.

    That boils my blood.

God, I wish I was there to help the kid out.

Bridgeport is a very racist part of town. I have friends who own places there and yeah, owners will not sell properties to minorities.

Same thing happened to me and a friend too. I got lucky though...my friend though, I could not protect from the 7 guys that attacked us. He almost got his jaw knocked off, and was eating through a straw for over a month...Completely unprovoked. Sometimes I wonder if we need to test testosterone levels and drain some of these idiots.

I don't make excuses for hate and violence but the leaders of bully gangs
are often learning this at home, from young on. Factor in that sometimes
'apples don't fall far from trees'
and you have a new generation of thoughtless cruel people.

The followers for me personally are much more responsible for incidents.
They feed the bully, fear the bully, support the bully, and make it possible
    for bullies to rule ...
when all they have to do is say no, I won't hurt another human being.

I wonder if anyone heard or saw or heard the commotion. It was a Sunday in the freaking city!

I would have called the cops and then confronted them.

If they want to take a shot at me, I won't play pretty.

Was this ‘kids being kids’ or in reality should it be viewed as --‘gang’ violence or --a ‘hate’ crime? Clearly these thugs, -yes thugs- wanted people to see them because they believe nothing serious, like jail time, is going to happen to them.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

don't think it's a hate crime ... you can only identify one youth ... they could be asian or black or whatever ... you don't know ... i suspect it has nothing to do with hate ... just thugs ...

kids trying to be bad-asses and not realizing that a bad ass kid would be the one who tried to stop such a scene. Kids are followers and that can be explained away to a certain point. NOT to this point though. Just straight up disturbing. Agree that it is not likely a 'hate crime' but a serious crime nonetheless.
