Thanks Suziemay...just checked my email. and it's there.0 -
I support this. I have never been able to score tickets from 10C so at least now I feel I have a chance. The old system was way too frustrating just to come up empty. I still might get shut out, but least I am not stuck at my computer ripping my hair out. When FASCISM Comes To America
it will be wrapped in the FLAG and
carrying a CROSS.0 -
Any time demand exceeds supply, people will be shut out. I prefer the old system because it gives the persistent an advantage. I've never been shut out of Ten Club tickets and swear it's because I'm hammering away while many people drop off to vent about the process in the forum. I agree with wanting to have my fate in my own hands to a degree versus a lottery.
Also, I spend as much time on Ten Club tickets as high demand Ticketmaster shows. Whoever said you know in a couple minutes with TM: not accurate. I routinely have to invest 30-60 minutes for either. Just recently I got Loge seats for Tool 40 minutes into the onsale after it had been showing sold out for the previous 39.0 -

i guess for more Europeans this system works better cos all have the chance to score with out waiting hours infront of your pc and for us seniority doesnt count and its more easy to find spares, cos noone ask the other what number you are for make the deal....
the conversation goes like..: i have a spare - i want it..and both are happy and in the venue...
im not entering the lotery, seems i cant afford it right now ,card is full ,but ill be at both shows..."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

I think it's great they're trialling this idea, however I hope they can resolve the online sale issues for future tours. I can defo understand why they're doing this for these two shows, it should be less grief for them.My PJ shows:
London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....0 -
tman wrote:In the case of the prague show since they are seated tickets close to the stage will seniority still apply if one is drawn for tickets??? That's a important question to note I think as if they use this way for the next US shows if becomes very pertinent info!
as far as I know, the prague tickets are standing as well, just in a separate floor section:
"- In the case of the Prague show, the floor is split into two sections. The fan club tickets are for floor section closest to the stage. While the fan club has reserved the majority of the best floor tickets in Prague, tickets to this section are also available through the public on-sale." I don't think Europe has seniority-related tickets.
As for the lottery, I'm not a big fan of it, but I'll try not to judge it before we've all seen how it went. I still think the best solution would be to find a reliable website that can handle the traffic a presale causes.0 -
I'm not gonna complain on something that i will not be using on this go around of shows . if 10C decides that this is the only way to get tickets to their fan base i'm ok with it . i'm done stressing or getting pissed or what ever when it comes to getting tickets to shows these days i'm very happy to have seen what i have seen
So this way is the same as us having to send in our request for shows like we did in the 90's good luck to all who participate and enjoy the shows now it's up to the mighty computer who gets in .........jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
actually, the f5 way ,was a lottery as well...just now, someone else push the button for you and you spent 2 minutes to do what you have to do to get in the lottery..and you dont have to be specific time to your computer, take the day off etc..."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

Kind of a newbie here so if this has been addressed sorry. It was my understanding that seniority plays a part in getting tickets except for 1st row. Does this new system make seating more random(i.e. my chances are as good as anyone to getting up close). If this is true, I personally like it, The Grateful Dead's presales were always topnotch. I was as close as 2nd row for one show them on the side for the next. For over 75 shows, I was on the floor for most of them. Thoughts????0

I got tickets every time the old way. It worked fine. Slow, but those who stuck it out got tickets. Remember the days of sleeping on the sidewalk? Whoever wants it more, gets it. I spent many nights on the sidewalk and I sure as hell wouldn't have put my chances up for grabs in a lottery then or now. Lotteries suck.0

dimitrispearljam wrote:in europe is GA shosws so seniority dont count..seniority doesnt count for scoring tickets, only count where you will be at the venue when the show is usa style, with seats
What's the deal with that anyway?
Why is it that PJ had a tragedy happen in Europe due to general admission tickets, yet they perform 100% seated venues in the USA and still let the Europeans have GA shows.... ? Does that not seem logical to anyone else?
I mean, at a lot of these europe shows, they have the option to put up seats, don't they? (excuse my ignorance here if that's not the case)... At least the venue shows, right? I assume they can't at the festivals... but if there's a "floor" they should have collapable seating like all the US venues? No?Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
I honestly have no idea why people on here are so confrontational. Someone asked the forum their thoughts on the new system. A system that as of right now is only being used for these shows. There is no indication that it will continue for every show moving forward.
As far as my comment about members getting access to shows in their hometown. I do think that would help a few people. How awesome would it be if all the people in Oslo were guaranteed tickets and didn't have to go through the hassle. Of course, I'm speaking from Chicago, so you can all say that I am spoiled with a show all the time!!!
I even changed my stance to simply ask for ONE guaranteed show. Bash me if you want, but I'm going from having a good chance at seeing all the shows I want, to missing out, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also, I'm well aware that I can buy them during a general onsale, but that really wasn't the question asked and has nothing to do with our current 10 club benefits.0 -

Very few arena shows in the UK/Europe have seating on the floor, it's usually up to the artist booking the venue as to what happens. Some bands, like The Eagles (for example), will have seating. Others won't. There is the capability to put seating in all these arenas, as with North America, it just doesn't happen for whatever reason. The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits0 -
It's just not the usual procedure in Europe to have seats on the floor. This is rarely done, and if so it's for special events in special locations (e.g. Radiohead in the arena in Verona was all seats).0

I like the previous method better. It was a combination of luck and effort. I like to be in partial control of my ticket destiny.0
