My neighbour wants a pearl album to listen because I'm always goin on about them he is a music person , what would u give him ?

I gave him ten but now I'm thinking that wasn't the right one what would of u given him ?

    benny on cd seems to work for none pearl jam fans as its a bit softer

    Pick your favorite bootleg ive always preffered the boots over the albums.

    A "music person" who is not familiar with PJ? Hard to imagine. I'd give Backspacer. I think it has something for everyone. But Ten is an awesome choice of course. Of course, with PJ you can't go wrong, if you ask me

    I'd ease him into them by giving him Rearviewmirror, a live album may be a bit much for him with not being familiar with the band despite how amazing we think PJ are.

    Why do u think TEN wasn´t the right one ??

    We all heard TEN first and become Fans of PJ so why should that didn´t work 20 years later ??

    Completely disagree. You want to initiate someone with an album that has Bugs, Pry To, Aye Davanita and Stupid Mop?

    I've always thought No Code is best out of the PJ catalog, or at least my favorite but ya gotta go with the classics for someone who "doesn't know PJ." :shock:

    But it actually depends on many things like his taste for music and his age.
    When i was 15, 16 i missed out a lot of song because i wans`t mature enough to listen to them (especially the calm ones). Nowadays (im 20) i can listen to them all. But ten is a great opener. Backspacer also, as it was said here, i also think that it was made for everyone.

    Vs, without a doubt, don;t get wrong, Ten was my first PJ love, but Vs blew me a way the first tme I heard it, or show them MTV unplugged.

    if he is a music person but haven't listened to TEN in 20 years, I gather there is something missing...

    I suggest you give him TEN and your favourite one, and leave it to him how he continues... someone said to pick up your fav boot, or boots, I think that it would be a very good piece of advise, so he can figure out how a PJ concert is, and he will get live versions of the songs from TEN and your fav CD, plus the ones that are not there... and burn a CD and make it a xmas present...

    I gave him ten and MTV unplug when u have over 2000 vinyl records I think you a music lover , ok he doesnt have any pj but how many big bands don't you have albums of I can name heaps

    I see, he just wasn't into PJ or grunge maybe... so, you have already given him Ten and MTV... so, go with your fav one,and boots... my fav is vitalogy...
