nope. I'm a front row nerd, I freely admit it. For my 6 US foo shows, I only didn't get front row one time (it was second row, just because security fucked us over when going in). I want to be up close to where it all happens as possible.

Which show would be the easiest to get super close to the stage: Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin, or Copenhagen?

And when I say easy, I'm speaking relatively because I'm sure none of them will be "easy".

    :)
I'd get behind Dimitris... The dude is front row crazy!
Not really, I wouldn't say so. Setting aside Alpine, last time I was with him was Wulheide and we were halfway in the stands, voluntarily.

It's where I'd be too. The front is for the young fan.

Heh it's hard to say, there are usually travelling groups who do a tour of queuing early. I had to arrive the night before the Berlin show to get to the front last year.

Plus having won the lottery in Canada and getting the best seats in the house which meant strolling down into them at 8.30pm is quite the irony.

good god you PJ people are freaking hardcore. may I say...challenge accepted! ;)

manchester will be my first PJ show, and I'll have the pleasure to be going with a friend from portugal who now lives in the UK...we met on the pumpkins board almost 10 years ago, and now we'll finally have the pleasure to see a show together. this is going to be freaking amazing. and her being the person who first introduced me to this band too...so looking forward to it!

Fantastic, Pumpkins are my joint fave band with PJ, travelled a bit in 07 and other years to see em as I wasn't really around back in the 90s was great. Enjoy the show!!

thanks, I'm sure I will! Pumpkins were the band that defined my youth, I saw them when I was 14, on their farewell tour in 2000...wasn't too impressed with what they did since, but I've seen them live a few weeks ago and the show was pretty awesome!
I had this stupid "you're a Nirvana fan, you can't like PJ" thing going when I first got into music...can't believe what I missed out on looking back!

the legends about this band having the most insane fans seem to be true. I like it! :D
  • Bologna 2006, 10C tix, 2nd row in front of Eddie, the band began with "Elderly woman" and people started waving around in all directions, we thought we could collapse to ground at any moment and I thought to myself: "What's gonna happen at the first massive song?".
"Do the evolution" followed and it was the end of my 2nd row... :D
It took me half the song (approx. 2 minutes) to reach to the side (approx. 15 meters)
I guess I'll never forget the terror in the eyes of a very young girl whom I helped to find a way through the people...

From that day I decided that a 3rd-4th row in front of Mike or Stone is fair enough to me...

If you wanna be where the action is, you should stay away from front row imo. Look at youtube; most of the time the front row people just stand there and nod their head. Reason is; when in the front row, you can't feed of the energy of the audience, since they're all behind you, and you really have no idea what the atmosphere is back there. At least, that's how I've experienced front row. If you wanna be where the action is, fall back to 4-5 row. That's where I'll be 8-) .

It's what you sike up for all day, that big run up n down the steps. Ya I dragged Marjolein with me, but she was with German Laura and they were being slow so I just went

Edit - Berlin 2010 was bove

Berlin 09 ya was about that time, was good though Ed gave me his lighter.
  • Showed up around noon for the last Berlin show. I didn't join the actual queue until a while later as we preferred to hang out in the sun for a while and still made 2nd row. And that was only because I let a smaller person stand in front of me. I just kind of ended up there and didn't push and shove my way to the front like so many people seem to do. But then again I don't really care much for stage center and usually go for a spot on mike's side and it's far easier to get closer to the front there.
I've never been one of the really early birds and can't remember a single time where I ended up further back than 6th or 7th row.
