Not everything has to be deluxe or limited edition - just release all the albums on vinyl again and sell them for $25 each.

    +1

And please also include Benny Hall :shifty:

Does any one know the release date for the TEN and VS/Vitalogy box? If they used the same time between these two boxes to the next box, when should it be in stores?

I still don't understand why people get excited about the release of an album that has already been released and to which you likely know all the words :lol:

For me it'd be the live release from the era, and the hope they include something awesome like Randall's Island '96 :)

Why would the band even have to be involved? Not everything has to be deluxe or limited edition - just release all the albums on vinyl again and sell them for $25 each.

Quite possibly the best post on the forum this week!

if they do i dont think it will be for awhile...i loved no code because it whittled down the audience....ive always been a fan of experimental music & remember when they put who you are as the 1st single, the radio station i was listening to started doing ad campaigns for habit (the b-side)....it was FUNNY...but IF we do get these reissues in the future...i would like to see the 9-14-96 showbox show as the live part ....randalls island would be like 6 records.....the msg 9-11-98 show would be great 2...vibe wise....personally i am looking further down the road for binaural/riot act reissues.....more reissues are probably years away, though..the band has said that they're tired of looking back & want to focus on album #10!!!! heres 2 hoping for a spring release!!!!

Not sure where you get your information from, but that makes no sense. Tim has confirmed that while "The Vault" project will take years upon years to take shape as far as how often shows are released since they want to take their sweet time mixing them, they do plan to put most everything out there eventually.

Now if you just meant never on vinyl, then yeah, that's a definite no.

Randall's Island 2 will never get an official release. If you listen to the boot, you hear Ed multiple times stopping the show and asking the crowd to calm down. At one point he tells the crowd that someone is going to get hurt and they couldn't go on as a band if someone were to die at one of their shows. I think the show touches on way too sensitive of a subject considering what happened in 2000 to ever get an official release.

I would love for it to be released. It was my first show and it kicked ass. But I doubt it ever sees the light of day as a band issued boot.

Exactly. It will probably be getting worked on in late 2012, you know, after the new album and world tour are over. :D

personally, I don't care. If they release a cd like live at the orpheum then I'll buy that, but all the extra shit is nothing.
This sort of thing isn't entirely in the band's hands, though. Is it? I thought it's mostly Sony that's driving these reissues.

that is correct, but if the band says "put out whatever you want, we aren't getting involved", then that's their choice. Sony can't really go through Jeff's stuff without his permission.

judging by their reissues and box sets chronology, it should be released in early 2013-

No Code/Yield super deluxe box set (w/ most likely a live show(s) from that era on SUPER RARE ONLY GOD ITSELF CAN CONCEIVE OF vinyl)

As much as people don't want to hear it, if the band isn't bothered with doing further reissues, I don't see any reason for Sony to want to either. Ten, Vs., and Vitalogy went platinum a combined twenty-five times in the US. No Code and Yield both only went platinum once, and everything since then stalled at gold.

Besides, Yield is already as well documented through official releases as any of the first three albums were between the releases of Single Video Theory and Live on Two Legs.

(I'm not saying I don't want them to reissue everything. I would love it if eventually everything got an exhaustive, Super Deluxe reissue. I just don't know that it's a foregone conclusion that it will happen. I could see the remainder of the catalog just getting the "Single disc remastered with bonus tracks" treatment...)

Well, my point was that, if Sony says they're going to do it, it's going to happen. I can't really see the band telling Sony to go ahead and re-release the albums as they see fit without getting involved somehow. I guess it could happen, but that seems unlikely to me.

My guess is the guys "hang out" way more often than "make music." The band has plenty and I mean PLENTY of time to sit down and do a re-issue. Do these guys even know what an alarm clock is?! I personally cannot wait for Binaural/Riot Act on vinyl. Mmmmmm mm!
  • waiting for them, but with the tour, the PJ20 lp, and the new album.. i think this won't be out for a while

Yeah, but (if they do it) is this going to be released at their leisure or whenever Sony/Legacy says "Let's go."?
