    It's been nearly five weeks since my surgery....time flies when you're having fun!

    Yesterday, I saw my chemo guy. Good news and bad news. The good news is he said the side effects of my next round of chemo were "only" numbness, tingling, cold sensitivity and maybe a little breathing difficulty :shock: . Of course, every bad side effect known to man is included in the "possible" side effects. I'm hoping for the best. This next round is 3 kinds of chemo in one; known as Folfox. I'll be hooked up for 48 hours, every other week. Judging from my bloodwork, the chemo doc said I looked "great, on paper." Yeah, they said that about the Red Sox too :lol:

    The bad news is that the chemo lasts for 24 weeks. I said, "24 weeks?? That's half a year!" He gave me the "no shit Sherlock" look. So, my surgeon was pretty accurate when he said this whole thing would take a year out of my life. I start the new chemo on Oct. 19.

    Speaking of the surgeon, I saw him today and he said I looked great. He seems pleased with everything so far. He also snipped the last of the stitches from my butt so I'm done with him for awhile.

    all in all, with the shitty hand I was dealt, I'm playing these cards pretty well :mrgreen:

    I was amazed when I was over at the ads for medicines on the tele giving lists of possible side effects etc... we don't have that here, the pharmacy tell you or you read the leaflet :lol::lol::lol:

    Yay!! After an op the other year I hated not driving, felt completely cut off from people (totally stupid really as I live in a town and people were visiting me). I guess it was something to do with freedom. Enjoy the drive :D
