I was on the floor Mike's side row DD and we I started to chant and the two guys in front of me followed along. It was a good time. Perhaps all PJ fans think a like.“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”0 -
did anyone completely miss the show like i did? I checked the bell centre website a week before and i thought it said the show started at 9:30. I had to pick up tickets at the box office which we should have done right when we got into town. Anyways got there at 10 firguring would miss first opening band and just catch sleater kinney and PJ were already on and they won't let us in. I heard they started at 7:30 and was there 2 opening bands? just wondered thanks0

Unbelievable show! I am still so happy. The best band in the world for so many reasons. They are rocking so hard that I was worried Eddie was going to be hospitalized at one point during Save you he slipped and fell into his monitors and hurt himself pretty bad, he rocks out so hard, I think he is the biggest pearl jam fan in the building. He still didn't miss a word of the song, there is no one better!!
The crowd was massive at the bell center, the building is huge and there was only a few rows in the third tier empty. It was very loud and the setlist was unreal. Release was special, Eddie was definately into it as he said "oh dear John" in memory of Johnny. Light Years ending was absolutely perfect. Sad is one of the best live songs you will ever see. Trouble with eddie sitting down really showed off his vocals, I felt chills while he performed it, unbelievable. Betterman was ended perfectly, Eddie broke a couple of strings during the jam but switched out his guitar in enough time to break into "i wanna be your boyfriend". Eddie ranting after Love Boat Captain was the funniest thing I have ever witnessed him say. Saying that before Boom influenced the song it was going to be about Bush and was going to be entitled "Greed Boat Asshole" haha. I still can't believe Trouble, what a treat for the ears!!!
Man of the Hour was unbelievable. Crazy Mary featured some dueling organ and lead guitar between Boom and Mike that dropped my jaw. Alive seemed to never end with the entire stadium pumping fists and yelling hey, hey, hey.....they left after Alive and the place was going insane. Then they take the stage once more and eddie says some thankyou's to the crowds in canada and the crew and then saying "you could count the times on my (little pause while searching for what to say)........DICK that I have done this..." and went on the thank the promoter for the canada shows.....haha
They killed Whipping with Matt at his peak.
Once the house lights are on, the opening notes to Baba O'Riley is played. A song that unless you hear live you really cannot appreciate how good it is. It was taken to a new level after tonight for me. The perfect ending to a show with Yellow Ledbetter with everyone staying until every band member was in the dressing room. Incredible crowd. Great experience. One that will never be forgotten.0 -
the best band in the world... thanks to grumpys and the hottest bartender in Montreal (senya)... i am going back next summer, no doubt0

This show was one of the most emotional felt shows Ive ever seen. Release/Light Years/Indifference/Man of the Hour and Black from this show - holy shit. Quite an awesome show
Nice meeting everyone before the show too!0 -
i want to see you dance a gain...0

This was my 6th Pearl Jam show and I have to admit that this was one of the best ones I've seen. I don't think it was the setlist, because any Pearl Jam show for me is just wonderful. I think the energy in the crowd had a lot to do with it and also the chemistry on stage that they had. I felt like they were happy to be playing there for us, Eddie even learned a little French for us...that was cool...It just seemed much more intimate even though it was a huge crowd. Maybe it's cuz it was in my hometown too, but all in all, everything was just great, it wasn't like they just wanted to play and leave, they were there enjoying it just as much as we were. Thank you Pearl Jam for coming to Canada!!!!Montreal '98, '00 & '05

The show was amazing The band was full of energy! It's hard to believe Eddie is 41!(Sorry Eddie) I was suprised but excited that they opened with release! I went to the show wearing my ramone tank top and was happy to see eddie wearing his as well remembering his dear friend.I think i had to be one of the few girls around me though that stood the whole time and sang every god damn song! Peeps around me were sitting I ask myself how? but I guess not everybody can be a vedhead like me lol! People saw my shirt and wanted to push me to the front but the security wasnt having it. Bummer! Overall I had goosebumps the whole night and was very impressed with the set list. I was really happy to hear In my tree and Crazy Mary, although I could never have any dissapointments with anything they do! Overall Great night and I'm still replaying it i my head! Just wish I was with the dudes who by chance got to hang out with him after the show.I had a false belief I thought I came here to stay. we're all just visiting, breaking like waves! - E.V.

I met Eddie before the Montreal gig and talked to him and I mentioned to him if he could possibly play Light Years..He said that that could work..
So to my suprise he played it that night which fit in nicely with the Johnny Ramone theme..
He gave me his Johnny pin he wore at the show after the show too.
He hooked me up with 2 tickets to the quebec city show ...the seats were 3 rows from the stage..
so if anyone knows Eddie tell Him I thank him"Like a bird on the wire like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free"0 -

The montreal show rocked ! PJ was on fire !! The fans were into it, and the bootleg came out great.
................The only downside was the agressive security.0 -
agressive??? it felt we were in "bande de gaza" with army chekpoints....
security was "over reacting" ..me too...it's my only downside...
HEY SECURITY GUARDS LEAVE THOSE JAMMERS ALONE!
I think they thought that Pearl Jam is a agressive punk band...lol
anyways
Show ws amazing!!
I had a quebec flag!!!!!!!!!!
peace!0 -
It's been 15 days since we made the 6 hr drive up to the beautiful city of Montreal, and I've had a shitty couple of weeks since. I've just gotten a chance to sit down and really listen to my boot from the show for the first time, and my god this was an amazing show... I don't think it's gotten quite the hype as some of the other Canadian shows (and I can't speak about them, as I wasn't there for any of them) but in my opinion it was amazing and definately deserving of praise. The crowd was electric, the setlist solid as always, and the band was meshing as well if not better than I've ever seen. It was a night to remember.
I just wanted to take a minute here to reflect on that night, as it was a highly (and longly) anticipated night for me, and the band made it incredibly special. Listening to the boot now lets me throw away all the stuff that's made for some shitty days for me of late, and I thank the band (and everyone who showed up! Wow the Bell Centre is big!) for giving me a release from the daily grind...0 -
hi guys,
I just posted some videos from the Montreal show on google. Sorry it has been so long, but man, I didn't know where to put them before. Sorry for the quality, but on my computer, the image is absolutely perfect (once it's on internet, it's pretty awful). And sorry for having moved the camera while I was filming. I was just too excited!!
I also got some very good pictures, perhaps one day I'll decide to put them on the net.

-Docwoo812muchmoresense wrote:The show was dedicated to Johnny.. one year goes by pretty fast. That fact put songs like Light Years in a whole new perspective. Good show all-around, glad I went. Thanks to the guy who sold me the shitty seat for $40, and thanks to security for not noticing me gradually working my way lower.
