ugh...worst day of work ever..tomorrow will likely be worse. nothing like tying to re-accommodate clients who are stranded in the Caribbean/Mexico and having to tell them that they can't get back home for days.

and to top it off, my parents are in South Jersey near the shore :-(
i would be very pleased if i was in the caribbean and was told that i can't go home for a few more days... but that's just me :P

This is scary! Our roof is already leaking. I'm praying for everyone in the hurricane's path. I hope you all stay safe.

Oh no! The lights just flickered!

I just got a call from my best friend. She has been out on a fishing boat for the last few days, no way to get a hold of her. She is 30 minutes from land and just north of the storm. She is safe...

Thank you. I can breath again. :D

I've been watching on the news, seems pretty mental, funnily enough here in the north east of scotland we're getting battered by very strong winds and driving rain, with some gusts that feel like the roof is going to blow off, i know... nothing compared to what the usa is getting, but i have to wonder if its after effects of irene blowing right accross the ocean, or just a wierd coincidence. it just seems to me that when the east coast of usa getts a hurricane, we usually get strong winds here.... and i often wonder if its tail winds.

anyway back to subject matter... stay indoors and stay safe.

My power went out last night around 6pm and hasn't come back yet. Called this morning and they said it will be this afternoon or evening...guess that's better than days or weeks...my sis is only about a mile away and still had power last night so I can go over there if need be

Went to bed around 9:30 cause I was bored..woke up around 1:30 but went right back to sleep...worst part was to hit us overnight but I guess I slept right through it!

Other than losing power I've been safe..Hope everyone else has been too

hurricane floyd was worse. this was essentially a really bad rain storm with some wind. lots of flooding though, obviously.

couple tornado "warnings" that never materialized. power went out for a couple minutes then came back on.

looks like all the reports of the shore being washed away were overblown....your juggler's vaca is still set for friday

....looking forward to 24 hour coverage of 6 inch snowstorms later this year

the local news media blows. they love this kind of shit.

last night i saw a reporter out on some street interview some dude and his girlfriend who were riding a motorcycle on their way home from the bar. this was around midnight. the reporter was appalled that they were out on the streets despite all the warnings. the guy goes "it's really not that bad at all. it was worse out in ambler. but this is really no big deal here..."---then the reporter kind of gets into an argument with him. she's like "well the mayor of philadephia disagrees with you, we've been covering this for 24 hours and it is only going to get worse! yada yada yada...."

how bout news anchors, at the anchor desk, live on tv checking their phones and "reporting" on stuff their friends were texting them. anyone see this? "my friend in montgomery county is saying a hurricane touched ground near her house and they are all in the basement!"--then she'd ask the weatherman what he thought and he'd go "well i have not heard that, we haven't confirmed that yet... but it is possible."

saw this on nbc10 last night. tracy davidson and hurricane schwartz. ....what a bunch of dopes
