I loved every second and I was a lot more relaxed. The weather was horrible and we had a hell of a time getting to the venue
(next to the exsistential anti-feminist), but it was all ok once we got there. We arrived early, got to our seats, ran into a few familiar faces - Woohoo ((cheers!!!)) Mary! - and met some great people.
Kaddi - That is still the best ASK ever! E-V-E-R!!!
Hi Nora, it was great seeing you and Kaddi too!! What a show!!

Well I finally saw a Pearl Jam show for the first time after following the band (my favorite) since I first heard Alive. What can I say other than it was worth the wait. Almost 3 hrs of music, even my girlfriend who only likes the song wishlist and is a hot89 music listener, liked it. What a great band, what great music, I was mesmerized all night, especially to Not for You, Corduroy and Harvest Moon. I wish I had heard Evolution or Love Boat Captain, but I sure they don't do the latter much or at all as I am sure its a day they wish they hadn't lived through.
They sounded and looked great and it was worth every penny. I have never been to concert longer than 2 hrs, those who don't know them, don't know!

still the best show of 05...0

Amazing setlist and energy... Just incredible. I still can't believe it I WAS there.
Gotta get that boot soon, though"I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -
Lets give a HUGE and LOUD round of applaud for this AMAZING show!
Ottawa rocked exactly 3 months ago! Can't believe it was that long ago, or not so long ago... Doesn't seem like it.
OK, when Eddie first came to do the pre-set people were so pumped for the show... Then SK hit the stage, they rocked... But I was still like dreaming after hearing and seeing Ed from like 4th row or so (before the security guys came and told us to go back to our seats)
Anyways, after an hour of SK, lights out, we knew who was coming next:D
When finally PJ hit the stage hearing WASH as opener I was  I just couldn't believe it! I kept saying OMG, OMG, OMG probably thru whole 1at verse, and then it finally hit me, so I enjoyed the song...
Then all those AWESOME songs on (one) the GREATEST stelist(s) of NA tour, followed by IN HIDING! One of my personal favorites, another SURPRISE.
Just when we thought we got it all, another SURPRISE from our very favorite
super awsome brilliant Pearl Jam... Mr. Stone Gossard sang *DON'T GIMME NO LIP* FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! The crowd went nuts even more, and the band loved it, Eddie had a blast while Stone was singing
So I was in HEAVEN and I though, this can't get any better, another thing happened... Few songs after mr. Gossard, they started playing some familiar tune...I guess I was still in delirium and didn't realize what it was
until Eddie sang like 2nd verse.
I GOT SHIT!!! OMG! I almost DID get shit then! Seriously! Tears just poured down my cheeks and I just got into this show more and more, with every song they played. But this just hit me. I cried of happines, I fell in love with PJ all over again. Just INCREDIBLE.
Then some TEN hits after that, we rocked REALLY hard and I was going nuts until another super emotional song, BLACK.
Beautiful version, lighters everywhere, everyone got into it, singing but not too loud, until *do do do* part where the crowd just OWNED it.
I COMPLETELY lost my voice by then and couldn't sing, so I whistled.
There are no words to discribe how I felt. And the best WE BELONG TOGETHER tag, Eddie filled with emotions singing this ultimate love song...
I almost melted.
Then Betterman, a classic and a great singalong. It's a great feeling singing that song wiht thousands of fans, all of us united by one band, one song...Great!
Another AWESOME version of RVM, and a LOOONG jam at the end. They teased as at the beginning before they started really playing it, if I recall corectly. Haha, that was fun.
The LOUDEST 1st encore ever, hehe, and then Jeff and Eddie came back to sing Bee Girl. That was hilarious, I was laughing during the song, they
were so funny and I just thought it was the funniest thing that night playing Bee Girl. Never thought I'd hear it live.
It was great, though.
I love the fact I heard both version of Miracles, and this night it was the slow/acoustic one. I loved it.
Sleight of Hand was a cool treat, not played that often, I guess. Not my fav songs, but the lady who was with me (hi, northcountrygirl if you're reading thi by any chance) was really happy and she sad THANK YOU several times. It sounded great, it's an unusual PJ tune, I might say, and I liked they played it that particular night.
I don't really want to say more, the rest of the show ROCKED, all the songs were just INCREDIBLE, the band was so into it, so was the crowd. My 17th floor CENTER seats were great, I was looking straight at Eddie(thanks,
again, northcountrygirl) and the night was a dream come true.
Just look at this incredible setlist below, might not be the most unusual one (but I believe it was #5 on the stat's, there was a thread on this earlier this week), but the show just rocked! They played for 2 hours and 50 minutes!!! It was 11:50 when we took pics of us and Can and Am flag after the show, and I was DREAMING!!!
So I'll stop writing, leaving you wiht this amazing show, listen to the boot (I still gotta get it, I know), and enjoy weather you were or you weren't there. I just relived Sept 16 all over again writing this review, so to speak
it took me *only* three months to put my feelings from that night into words
But it sure was worth being there and pariticipating in one of the best shows in PJ history!
Rock on Ottawa, rock on Canada, rock on Jammers, rock on PEARL JAM!
THANK YOU! I'll never forget it!

Sorry, that was a real nice review and I'm not trying to be a buzzkill or anything, but Ed didn't sing the 'We Belong Together' tag during Black.
Here's what Ed sang at the end. It was truly the best and most emotional version of Black I've ever heard.
"All the stars in the sky
Thought you were up in mine
Still I wonder...
I wonder.....
I wonder
You're so long gone
We've all come along
But still I wonder
Still I wonder
With each breath I know you're there
Somewhere
I wonder
I still wonder......""If no one sees you, you're not here at all"0 -

See, the opposite for me. I wasn't on the floor in Montreal, we had decent seats on overlooking the stage on Stones side (and I, stupid, didn't bring my camera ) Anyways, it was a great show, but I was so tired that night. I travelled all day to get there, then I had few beers at Grumpy's, LOL, but I was fine till the show started. It was OK, we had fun, but I wished I was on the floor where the REAL party was. It's always the best down there"I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -
And I must say, no matter where my seats were, both MT and OTT shows were incredible, but Ottawa sticks out a lil more because of the better seats and the setlist.
I'm sorry your neighbours were horrible, but it's great you can appreciate the show even though some ppl sucked. Don't let them ruin the show for you
In Montreal, a lady infront of me (actually 1 seat lower) was smoking ALL THE TIME. It's not a big deal, but I have a problem if the smoke's coming my way. the security guard warned her a couple of times, but she managed to hide the smoke anyways. I guess that was the only BAD part about MT (and the fact I was REALLY tired).
Sorry for the long posts, I wasn't around all day, so I had to take it out nowhehe

Best concert in Ottawa - 2005!

Just listening to this boot on the way to work today, made me remember how hard it was raining outside after the show.... and how perfectly it fit the words when the band took the stage... "oh pleeeeeeeeease... let it rain today...."
What a powerful moment, seeing WASH was so unreal, glad to go back to it!!the palms, in the breeze, still blow green
