    No, he's right.

In what is supposed to be the "greatest country in the world," we're living under the sword of Damocles. You never know when a simple accident can ruin your life. I know one guy who came from a poor family... worked his fingers to the bone to put himself through college, got a great job, set himself up as well as possible... did everything right.

Then he was hit by a driver with no liability insurance and he was screwed. Unable to work he lost his insurance, unable to get treatment for his broken bones, he's now disabled and barely able to work. In Canada and most countries in the world, he'd have gotten a simple collarbone surgery and been a productive person again in no time. Now he's nearly bankrupt.

Making fun of people who point out how easy it is to lose everything doesn't help your cause, it just makes you look kinda mean and a bit clueless.

P O D I'm sure there are a lot of racist or a homophobic racist that support the President, I just don't understand picking a group of people and guessing their thoughts on the President, but I also kind thought you were half being funny with your statement.

    Well I was.

But I think it's true. I think if you're a Republican, you're not necessarily a racist or homophobe. But I DO think, and have seen evidence that, if you're a racist and a homophobe... you're probably a Republican.

Its funny to see so many people support national health care because they deem it as a human right... You view YOUR health care are a right because your life could be ruined any second, and its societys job to take care of you, Yet.... you have no issues killing an unborn child (taking their Human right to live away) because you should be able to do what you want with your body. Why should people not be able to do what they want with their "body/time" which in turn = money they make. Why should I have to pay for other peoples health care. You are basically making me a salve. You are making me do something against my will (which is your arguement for pro-choice) by paying for other peoples health care and the way I make that money is with my body/brain...
Your well being/health is not a right. Nor should it be.

For the exact same reasons I find it funny that so many people that are against abortion are against national health care.

So the right to live = the right to live healthy? You want to go down this road?

Too much of a stretch trying to connect your position to abortion.

Our taxes pay into to services for the group as a whole. You don't include healthcare in those services, I do, as do many people in other modernized countries. We don't really do a very good job taking care of each other in the U.S. I'd rather not pay for a bloated military and war, why should I have to?

I am glad that you can guarantee that you, your wife and kids will never be in a serious accident... that none of you will ever face a serious health risk, such as heart disease or cancer. I cannot guarantee that for myself.
I'm also glad you can guarantee that you will never lose your employer provided health care. I cannot guarantee that, either.

No I don't believe in god, so that question is irrelevant and stupid.

I wouldn't say irrelevant Blockhead as there is a good percetage of people who believe in God that don't believe in helping there fellow man out. I thought you were a person of God by your irrelevant abortion comment.

so is your selfishness and lack of regard for anything outside of your immediate family a function of "slavery" or is it the other way around?

and i know plenty of people who would be offended by you calling yourself a slave, you get paid for your work, right?

No. I am saying that insurance companies need to provide INSURANCE to their customers if and when they need it. This whole debate would never have happened if insurance companies weren't left to regulate themselves for decades and did the right thing for their customers.

yes, and insurance companies are in it for profit, not because they love helping people pay for their health care costs. the current for profit insurance company culture and cabal needs to change immediately.

I am selfish because I think people should be responsible for their own health...
What is the definition of salvery = being forced to do someting against your will. Why should the results (money) of my brain/body (work) be given (by force) to people who don't do the same.
Sorry but I do not want to help pay for people who do not practice a healthy life style and or take care of themselves.
