I got a personal insurance policy. Pretty easy and cheap.

rising cost, rising tax's people that can't afford it that kind of stuff, mine is costing me $73 or so dollars a week as it is and I am good with at for now but it sounds like under obama that thing's will just start costing more for people in my situation, hay if it can get it cheaper with the same coverage I'm in.
what am I missing here or misunderstand Cosmo ? I know you have the right info so lets have it.

I was wondering... what part of the posted report did you think was 'ugly'? I didn't register to the source article... and could, therefore, not form a fully thought out opinion. I was just wondering, had you read the refreenced article... and what in that article makes it appear as 'ugly' to you?
Or are you just going on the FOX News' interpretation and spin on the article?

    See it's not like that.

If everyone has coverage, that means that everyone gets preventative coverage. It means that you and I don't have to foot the bill in taxes when people get very sick but have no coverage and call an ambulance to take them to the emergency room. Costs would lower right there.

I've seen people get in an accident through no fault of their own but they don't have health coverage and there's no one to sue for it (as is the American Way, sadly). Those people are ruined... often losing their jobs and unable to pay for the health care or therapy that they need. We end up paying in the end for that, too.

If everyone had coverage, being in a random accident or getting a random illness doesn't have to end your life. Literally, too... if you have coverage, you could get life-saving care. I'm not talking about emergency room care, I mean "if you have no coverage and get pneumonia, you just die... if you do, you stand a much better chance of living."

I'm sick and tired of driving past the Staples Center and seeing families lined up around the block for the mobile healthcare clinics.. Like they have in Somalia. This is America, for fuck's sake... we should at the very least not create a peasant class.

Oh... and with "Nobamacare" the insurance company can no longer take your money until you get sick and then tell you that they "just discovered" a pre-existing condition like acne when you were a teenager (and don't laugh.. that's happened a few times).

Trust me.. you're much better off than you were before.
  • And one last thing...

I get really tired of hearing people of the Tea Party whining about how "I don't want to have to pay for anyone else's care."

News Flash, Sarah... you already are.

Where do you think the money comes from when people go in for emergency care and can't pay for it?

What's funnier is that they're often saying this while attending rallies in public parks after taking the bus to get there.

Regardless of the number of posts I have and my poor choice of words, What has Obama done that has affected you? What is your fear of health care that covers all? Do you not think taxes are going up already, Or would you prefer a worthless dollar? Regardless of party, the system is broke and people that just try to incite are not helping fix the problem. BTW I'm sure I paid more in income taxes this year than you made based upon your $73 insurance, sounds like CA is subsidizing your insurance. And I'm happy to pay more if it means more people are covered, not just us lucky white guys from good families that live on the CA beaches. Come with the facts or quit posting things like this. And just so you know, the problems we are dealing with today are a result of the first Bush and Clinton, it will be at least 10 years until Obama's problems are upon us. Learn something! Now that I have been civil I will expect some facts from you in response.

Why is this information--basic, elementary--not understood by people? It amazes me that the new religion of American Capitalism, is deemed so infallible that we blindly have faith in it (this is why it is a religion) to never fail and to never be a detriment to the people. How can we not see that the healthcare industry and the banking and financial industries are set up to make a profit. That is all that matters to them. How can we have a functioning system with no corruption if that is the case? How can the people support this? Greed has destroyed this country, and nothing exudes greed more than Corporate America and the American distortion of capitalism.

Are you serious? Significantly, he buried the Imperial Presidency of George Bush and restored the Constitutional balance of government by respecting the equal standing of the legislative branch of government. This is a major matter of change of tone and style that he promised during the campaign, and he has delivered.

Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act that makes it easier to sue for wage discrimination, a dramatic reversal of the bill's fortunes under Bush.

Granted regulatory power to the FDA to control tobacco products, another dramatic reversal of the Bush years that industry has lobbied hard to prevent.

Signed the Matthew Shepard Hate Act that expanded federal hate crime protection to categories of sexual orientation and gender, to the major consternation of the Religious Right.

Restored the rights of states to regulate the medical use of marijuana without fear of federal law enforcement intrusion.

Implement an electronic medical record system before any healthcare legislation was introduced. This new technology will be singularly responsible for saving lives and reducing the high administrative costs of healthcare, a key element of reform.

Extended a $2500 tax credit to 5 million families to help with college tuition

    Killed Bin Ladin

    Passed a health care bill

Passed the bailout of the auto industry and pressured their management to tow the party line. Which saved the auto industry and jobs.

but giving nobama credit for killing bin laden ...he gave the go ahead..(oh you found him..yea yea kill him  ) if this is the case then in all fairness you must give some credit to bush for kicking the hunt off to start with, saved the auto ind.was a cool move but he didn't save anybody the tax payer wont foot the bill for right ? if I am wrong I am willing to listen.
and so far the helth care bill has been a media cluster fu*k, it's so confusing that I can't even tell what wil happen when it kicks in ...will I find out when I have to pay higher health care ? trust me I'm hoping for the best but I will not hold my breath.

    For the God Father

Do you even have the slightest concept of the balls it took to send Navy SEALS in 4 choppers into a foreign country that we are "Friends" with and not tell them? Also, they were not even 100% sure he was there. To kill OBL. He was the only one on the planet that could of Ok’d that call. The repercussions that would have set off if they failed would be critical. Give the man the credit to have the balls to make that call.

As for Healthcare, why shouldn't every American get healthcare? I mean everyone gets an education. But if you get sick then fuck off your on your own? What sense does that make. If your against Obama's HC plan then you are for insurance companies. And who wants to support them.

I always hear the argument that I work to get my health care. Well that's what keeps people at their shitty jobs that they are not happy in. They are scared. It should be a human right and not a profit making machine.

I also hear the argument that we support lazy people then if we give health care to everyone. But for how many lazy people that they say don't deserve it there are just as many or that got fired, laid off or hurt that do deserve it. I have seen relatives and friends all good people with nagging injuries or get sick and just had a bit of bad luck and can't even go to the doctor to get penicillin. So for all the people that they say don't deserve it there are just as many that do and lets just call it even or friendly fire. What the fuck happened to helping out your fellow man. It's all Me, me , now-a-days.

As for the auto industry move. Damned if he did damned if he didn't. Because people would have been on his ass for the jobs being lost. Did the auto industry pay it back? Yes they did so it looks like the right move to me. Numbers if the auto bailout did not happen:

240,000 very highly-paid jobs at the Big Three,[42] a loss of 980,000 highly-paid jobs at the suppliers and local dealers, plus the loss of 1.7 million additional jobs throughout the economy—a total loss of 3 million jobs. Not even mentioning the tire companies, platic part companies etc...etc...

Employer provided, no. Employers do not have to do anything but compensate those who they employ. I do feel though, that healthcare should be a basic right for human beings.

No. It’s a way for them to sweeten' the pot to get good/keep good employees. It's more of an incentive & limits turnover.

    Exactly.
People seem to think Health Care is owed to them by their employer. It's not. It is provided to employees as a benefit to get them to come work for them and to keep them in their employ.
I think the worst offenders of health care hypocracy are the fucking assholes who claim that the government needs to get out of the Health Care system... yet, scream bloody murder if anyone even suggests cutting their Medicare assistance.
