After his statements about Muslims in his cabinet, I'd never vote for him.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0

He was honest in his answer. We should be cautious when the Muslim radicals are out to kill us. He did not say he would not appoint a Muslim. It is just smart to try to make sure you are not appointing a terrorist or a terrorist sympathizer. This person has some common sense! So far he’s my pick!!“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” Abraham Lincoln0

You serious? I would imagine anyone who as the experience to be part of a presidential cabinet or similar position, would not be a terrorist. Some of the shit I read from you on here....0 -

Not that I would have voted for him anyway, but yeah, those comments really gave me a negative view of him. Very bigoted, or at the very least outright fearful of an entire religion of people. Nothing like the President of the United States telling millions of US citizens that he doesn't trust them.My whole life
was like a picture

Seriously, if people are going to run on the U.S. Constitution, at least read the damn thing. If people are going to listen to these idiots quote the U.S. Constitution, at least call them on their mistakes. All this ‘self-interpretation’ is nothing more than bullshit, apparently, people haven’t learned their lesson with the Patriot Act?
What’s Herman Cain got against the Constitution?
7:53 am June 10, 2011With the implosion of Newt Gingrich, Georgia’s stable of presidential contenders is down to Herman Cain, who has made some headway in the polls in part by preaching a populist fidelity to the U.S. Constitution.
However, when even Alan Keyes, writing in the wingnut World Net Daily, takes Cain to task for his blatantly unconstitutional statements, well, you’ve got a problem.
Let’s review Cain’s record, shall we?
“We don’t need to rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to reread the Constitution and enforce the Constitution.”
– Herman Cain, announcing his candidacy for president
———————–
GLENN BECK: So wait a minute, are you saying that Muslims have to prove, there has to be a loyalty proof?
CAIN: Yes, to the Constitution of the United States of America.
BECK: Well, would you do that to a Catholic or a Mormon?
CAIN: No, I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t because there is a greater dangerous part of the Muslim faith than there is in these other religions.
———————–
“I want people in my administration that are committed to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. I don’t want any inkling of anybody in my administration who would put Sharia law over American law. I have not found a Muslim that has said that they will denounce Sharia law, you know, in order to support the Constitution of the United States.”
– Herman Cain, on the Laura Ingraham radio show
————————-
“… no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
– Article VI, U.S. Constitution
————————-
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …”
– Amendment One, U.S. Constitution
——————
“All of the talk about a national foreclosure freeze . . . all they’re trying to do is appeal to people’s emotions. You see, the United States federal government, folks, has no jurisdiction over bankruptcy law. States do!
So, if some states decide that they want to investigate some of these phony or incomplete foreclosures, it’s up to the states. This is not even under the jurisdiction of the federal government!”
– Herman Cain, talking on his radio show about federal legislation to address the foreclosure crisis
—————–
The Congress shall have power to …. establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States.
– Article 1, Section 8, U.S. ConstitutionSIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0 -

keeponrockin wrote:If that's how he thinks, I'll never vote for him. Plain and simple. McVeigh was a Christian and he attacked government buildings, does that mean all Christians should be subject to a loyalty test?
I'm not trying to defend Herman, but I believe the McVeigh / Christianity correlation is a poor choice. It's comparing oranges to apples when trying to associate his motives with those of the 9/11 hijackers.
Now, some of the Christian militias (remember those goombas in Michigan?) and radical groups that bomb abortion clinics are better examples ... luckily for us in the states, they appear to be a very slim minority.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Yeah. One nutcase.
By the way... the guys who blew up the Oklahoma building.... they were white. And Christian. Better do background checks on everyone.0 -

How do you know that? Can you please direct me towards some thing that I can verify, rather than taking your obviously slanted opinion on the matter.
By the way... anyone who 'KNOWS' a crime... a murder... is going to be commited... but doesn't say anything because 'they are afraid people might think they are racist'... those people are not racist, rather they are fucking COWARDS and PUSSIES and bear some of the responsibility for the crime.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! @Jason P, you're right, those are better examples. But based on those examples, should we make Christians prove their loyalty? (the answer is no, as it should be for Muslims, Mormons, and Dudeists).Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. So, he is catering to the, 'I don't have the patience to read stupid words like elitist intellects, so just give me the 60 second sound bites I can catch on YouTube' voter base... right.

unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487He thinks it is acceptable for states to regulate gun control. Granted Cain likely meant "if anyone should, its not the feds"...but he is still wrong. The right to keep and bear arms may not be infringed. The 2A does not say, "Congress may not regulate firearms"...and due to the supremacy clause, this also makes state infringements unconstitutional.
Personal freedoms begins there, to me he is not a pro-liberty candidate. So he will not get my vote.0 -
