I don’t see how someone can find fault with keeping bills to a minimum to keep things from slipping in like earmarks……or having the law written so the average guy can understand…..what is wrong with that?

there are very few bills that can possibly be under 3 pages. that to me means that this guy is completely irrational. also, there should be no spending cuts unless revenue is raised as well. the republicans are making this out to be an "emergency", and if they were deadly serious about getting out of debt as soon as possible then they should put their money where their collective mouths are and demand higher taxes on corporations and on the wealthy. but they never will because that is their base. they are a joke of a party. i am going to sit back and watch as their leadership and presidential and congressional candidates drive their party bus off of the cliff. if they continue their current platform of waging class warfare, supporting the ryan budget and cutting medicare and medicaid they will lose both houses for at least the next 12 years.

Because bills are often more complicated. And if the average guy cares enough to understand, he will!

Bills need to be written concisely. The reason he wants them short is so it makes it easier for his corporate owners to find loop holes so they can keep fucking over the people to make even more money.

Sorry but if you're not willing to do your homework, read, study and make informed decisions, you're not cut out to be a leader.

    Tell you what...
Why don't you draft a bill proposal to prevent nuclear, chemical and/or biological arms making materials from getting into the hands of terrorist that does not restrict trade, violate agreed upon free trade treaties and meets the Constitutional constraints... and keep it under 3 pages and in language that even Paris Hilton would understand.
If not... then, I guess we don't need that law... right?
    ...
Also, the average guy that WANTS to read and understand Bill can go here to read the full text of the bills.

I'm just your average working Joe and I can read and understand the bills. I also understand that a 2700 page document is only used for the copies made available to our representatives during the debate portion of the process. They are 2,700 pages because the font is 20 pt. and more than double spaces so comments, concerns of each sentence can be written in the margins. So each page is limited to only a few sentences.

Here is a sample of what I am talking about:

I used this one because it is short. Still... it takes 2 pages to say:
    112TH CONGRESS - 1ST SESSION H. R. 1954
To implement the President’s request to increase the statutory limit on the public debt.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES - MAY 24, 2011
Mr. CAMP introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means A BILL To implement the President’s request to increase the statutory limit on the public debt.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
    SECTION 1. FINDING.
The Congress finds that the President’s budget proposal, Budget of the United States Government, Fiscal Year 2012, necessitates an increase in the statutory debt limit of $2,406,000,000,000.
SEC. 2. INCREASE IN STATUTORY LIMIT ON THE PUBLIC DEBT.
Subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31, United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting in lieu thereof ‘‘$16,700,000,000,000’’.

    ...
Representatives use these documents to sway an illiterate voter base to form conclusions that are not based in reality. If the 'Average Guy' really gave a shit about this country, he'd get off of the fucking MILF porn sites and read the fucking laws he is 'so concerned' about.
