Not sure I believe that most companies know what they will be doing with benefits 3 years from now.

I don't really think that this is a much different result than if you asked each of these employers, "If the costs of benefits keep rising at the current rate, will you be likely to stop offering benefits in three years?"

Hell, if all they will have to pay is a $2,000 penalty per employee, I'm surprised the number isn't higher. The average annual premiums in 2010 are $5,049 for single coverage and $13,770 for family coverage.

The health insurance system is a disaster... Obama's plan didn't do anything to help it, but it can't make it any worse. The only people winning under the current system or Obama's are the health care & health insurance industries.

I just got a letter in the mail yesterday asking me to be part of a class action lawsuit aginst Farmers for the amount of $54 million or something like that but my end of the settlement would be $2.47, think I'll sigh and take the check just to stick it to Farmers, they got nailed for over charging for admin fee's or something like that.

    Don't do it.

I was part of a class action against Expedia because they charged overcharged by a few dollars on admin fees. I called the lawfirm up and declined .... they said only 13 people had declined so far.

My biggest beef is that Expedia has saved me tons of money and tons of time. Some of you under the age of 28 may be in shock that you once had to call airlines on a landline to book a reservation. :|

Got rid of DADT, won't defend DOMA, signed the ENDA, killed Osama Bin Ladin, passed a health care bill which, while not perfect in any respect, will go light years ahead of what we have now, got a lesbian on the Supreme Court, didn't get votes by fear-mongering and pitting one group of people against another...

And he actually won the election and wasn't given it by his daddy's friends.

I could come up with more but I've got some work to do.

No... Obama is not perfect and I don't think it would be at all possible to please everyone or at this time even most people. But I'll vote for him again because I think to not do so would be catastrophic.

You know, a lot of employers have already gone a long way toward dropping insurance completely for their employees. We pay insurance in the $600 a month range for a family of 4, and we are currently getting next to nothing for the expenditure. We are spending a mini-fortune on top of that $600 a month insurance any time we need health care of any magnitude at all. Currently, there is a $300 yearly deductible per person and 20% of anything done, plus of course miscellaneous charges they didn't think of when they billed you the first time. There is a comforting $8,900 cap per person per year on how much can be charged to you. This is health insurance???? This is a joke. It's a legal way to make you practically pay protection money so the insurance company doesn't send someone out to bash you in the knees. As it is, they're bashing us in the pocketbook so badly the only people laughing are the insurance folks...all the way to the bank. The state of health care in the US is simply in tatters. And we're too stupid and too timid to change anything. Oh, my. Socialized medicine! Booga, booga! My health care's CEO won't be able to afford a new yacht for his mistress. But, single payer might let me keep my family a float. Scary!!!

99% of his links are fox news.......to purposely go there for your news is strange. Might as well go to The Onion.

No reference to how they did the survey. My guess is that it's a voluntary survey, since you can participate in their research if you join Mckinsey's Online Executive Panel, which makes any conclusions drawn from data invalid.

How can I take this report or study as having any shred of credibility when they refer to the legislation as ObamaCare right in the title of the article?

    AMEN!

that is what i have been saying on this forum for a year. "obamacare" is a negative term meant to stir bias or emotion against it by painting it in a negative light. i had a phone survey several weeks ago and the first question was a negative statement about "obamacare" and gave me a likert scale asking to respond that i "strongly agree, agree, somewhat agree, no opinion, somewhat disagree, disagree, strongly disagree" the question was asked in a leading fashion, therefore was a bad question fishing for a specific response. i hung up and did not take the survey. the first question told me all i needed to know about the survey and it's objectives...

  • the second anyone calls nationalized health care "Obamacare" I know they're probably a racist sore loser.

And that's all I got to say.

(except the guy who started this post also said gay men dress like women and "talk with a swish" so I'll add "homophobic" to the pile o' crap. 'Cuz why not?)
