As Carbon Output Hits Record High, Palin Declares ‘I Love That Smell Of The Emissions’

    http://thinkprogress.org/green/2011/05/ ... emissions/

So...she's appealing to those who love to buy and burn gas?! Who exactly can afford gas right now, with these prices?

Hmmm, do you suppose she's thought about how sniffing all those exhaust pipes affects brain function?

 It doesn't matter if it smells good...

    Sadly, that's what people want.

Many americans know they're dumb. And they want someone just like them. They want to think they, without working hard, knowing much or studying anything, could also be president.

I fully agree, which is very sad for us Americans...

it's nice to see all the self-rightous playing together on the train, this woman like it or not has made her mark in history already and like it or not she's still moving forward, what have you done with your lifes ? besides find the faults in other people who have achieved more than you ? you guys are amazing. ;)
and she can still get on the back of my bike anytime just for a chance to talk with her and learn what it is that gives her vision to do what she has done with her life.

I like her... better than most. She is an extremely good sport.

I like someone who can laugh at themselves, who can take all kinds of shit
    and still keep turning up.

She's got a will to succeed, is unique and beautiful.
Strong without being masculine, fashionable while remaining natural.
These the positives. I bet as President she could give a good speech

As far as the emissions thing she was speaking to motorcycle enthusiasts...
it was a joke... a bonding reference
she's a politician thats what they do. Say something to get in the news.

Cycles still get one of the best gas mileages around...
many who are now riding are doing so because of that.
The article mentions the rise in emissions, thats certainly not the cyclists fault...
its the huge gas guzzlers on the road and the fact that people in general can not
or will not cut back even at these gas prices.
I think her reference was meant to be ironic and news catching.

I'm just glad Hillary missed her chance... she did right? ;)

Yeah, she does seem like a good sport, as long as she's getting positive attention and things are going her way...

And she's not much of a politician when she can't handle her current governing seat and quits! Have people forgotten this??

True, but they didn't quit their political jobs because they "couldn't handle it", something Palin has said herself about quitting as governor of Alaska. And yet, she's fit to possibly run the country? Prince of Dorkness said it is right, we're really dumb to support this woman and it's because we want someone in the White House just like us: dumb.

I think people are incredibly disillusioned with our government, with politicians and are getting close to losing hope for the future. It's not wanting a President that is dumb but it has become a popularity contest based on race, physical appeal, age etc for many Americans. Many are without faith that the President can or will make any kind of a difference anyways.
There is also the factor that some people believe the President does not hold the power that the public once thought the office did. That the power lies with the money of the world.

I think she's just not that bright Godfather. Did you see the notes she had written on her hand that time? Right after she ripped Obama for using a teleprompter I might add.

It said: Energy, Tax Cuts, Lift American Spirit. She had 3 very general ideas to talk about, and she couldn't remember that. And I know her Katie Couric interview has been discussed to death, but that's because it was hilarious, she looked very dumb. She couldn't name one supreme court case besides Roe vs Wade.

One huge advantage that Palin would have in an election race is that the liberals have pretty much exhausted themselves at this point trying to dig up dirt on her. Obama's team wouldn't have a magic bullet in a tight race as I'm pretty sure we have seen all her dirty laundry at this point in time.

That said, I still don't think she will run and like Trump, is using this as an opportunity to exploit free press.

to be honest I would love a strong woman to be president...not like they would do any worse of a job...is Palin the right one...I guess the GOP and then the american people will have to decide...i would guess that she isn't going to run, and if she does she will not get the GOP nomination. she simply has too much baggage and the press would love to take it to her...she would never survive a run in a popularity sense...best thing the press could do is be overly nice to her, let her hang herself on her lack of agenda or true policies. if they start putting her through more and more scrutiny they will just embolden her base...time to quit paying attention to her and her flame will fade...half the reason people like her is because she is not liked by what they see as a liberal media and "elites"...those people should embrace her and let her hang herself...just report on what she says not what she is wearing...

They just released 24,000 emails of her's today. From her brief stint as governor. Trust me... it's about to get very interesting.

Yes, Sarah Palin made a larger mark in history than most of us, no doubt, and if working hard to make sure more animals are killed and more fragile ecosystems are disruped with drill, baby, drill, yeah, she's moving forward alright.

What have I done with my life? I'd tell you, Godfather, but it would sound too much like self-promotion. Suffice it to say, I'm satisfied with what I've done and I'll bet others here could say the same. But what I really want to know is, why would you assert that those of us posting here have done nothing useful? Think about it- there are teachers here and parents and volunteers and caretakers and nurses and activists and a whole host of underpaid service workers all of whom do wonderful things and work tirelessly to help other people besides running around being so self-important and egotistical as someone like Palin and who never get one single accolade but keep doing it because it's the right thing to do. And just what has Sarah Palin "achieved" anyway? I'm sorry for such an irate tone here, Godfather. I generally avoid being overly heated in on-line discussion, but I just don't get where you're coming from. :(

uhhh ... they are easily looked up ... from troopergate ... to fraud and excessive expense claims ... her entire time in office was a windfall for all her cronies ...
