Anyone else sad this happened? 10C worked hard to put together something special for us. LN clerk just doing his job without knowing any behind-the-scenes deals, Sawyer understandably angry over his cool deal going south? LN dropping the ball? Sounds to me like Sawyer is trying to maintain his cool with us members, responding in kind to posts in whatever frame of mind they're sent to him . . . angry if they're mean, nicer if they're not. I feel he's just trying to explain why he's upset. Personally I don't see 10C as being at fault, as the deal was not made with 10C, but as was pointed out, we don't know the details between 10C and LN.

Anyhow, I hope things work out satisfactorily for all parties and that everybody end up with a great PJ20 experience. It's a very special thing.

agreed...its putting a damper on an incredible event

It is kind of distressing reading this thread, and reading people turn on each other and turn on the 10C again - especially with the real big event brewing tomorrow.

It sounds to me that all will be resolved - this situation surely only affects a very few board members, and I am sure LN will reimburse them appropriately.

Just needs a bit of time. And that time in the fresh air sounded a good idea to me.

Am I right in thinking this entire thread is basically affecting 1 or 2 people? That's kind of nuts by itself.

As for which side people are on... I feel like this thread is when you go to a restaurant and something is cooked wrong or they put something on it you asked not to be on it.

And before the person can even try to fix it, they are already demanding the food be recooked for free with a free dessert, etc. I mean... if they refund the money they've fulfilled their obligations since nothing was signed with regards to a season ticket contract.

I dunno... as bad as I feel for someone who thought they had 6th row and then had it pulled from beneath them... threatening lawsuits, BBB, chicago tribune 'problem solver' ... just too much.

Scalp your immortality 7"s and go to stubhub, I guess... I think you were asking about that much for that 7" anyway.

I only have two things to say.

First, in your letter to Michael Rapino of Live Nation, you might want to refer to him as Mr. Rapino and not
    Dear Mr. Sarpino,

and second, in terms of a lawsuit against them, do you really think you can outspend and out maneuver Irving Azoff?

Not without an inked deal and no money ever changed hands.

I'm just wondering what would've happened if Sawyer never brought it up on this board to begin with? Not saying it was wrong to do it at all, just wondering what would've happened? Would he have been good, or would he have shown up at Alpine only to find some people with the same seats, or what?

Sawyer should call his CC company and see if he has been charged the $2700 yet.

    If not......nothing more than miscommunication.

So, are you implying that a 'normal' person should not take on someone/some firm 'bigger' than them if they have been wronged (though I think that in this case, Sawyer was just venting)? Should one let himself/herself get walked all over just because there is someone with major resources doing the walking over?

As I said, in this case, lawsuit would certainly not be appropriate but what you are saying is quite awry. Though, I'm assuming you were being flippant?

Sorry if this post is 'out of context of the thread'. The comment just rubbed me the wrong way. Will say no more about this.

OK, I get it. But still, he's lucky he did say something on here I guess. If he wouldn't have said something, he wouldn't have known he didn't have the tickets until it was too to get in on the pre-sale and maybe even the public sale.

It sucks, but at least they caught it early.

  • This reminds me of what happened last year with DMB pit tickets for a few shows. Ln/tm said that there would be no print at home tickets for every show that had a pit section. Sure enough when tickets went onsale people were printing pit tickets at home. Then scammers started selling lawn tickets and disguising them as pit tickets. When people arrived at the venue they were told they had lawn tickets and had to go to customer service.

Not that my opinion matters but I'm on Sawyer's side. But, he's not out $2,700. I want this to be clear. He hasn't paid a dime yet. He hasn't given them a credit card or check or signed anything. He basically got a gentleman's agreement via phone/email. I know because I did the same thing he did. But, didn't want to say anything out loud until the deal was actually official. Hoping it works out for us Sawyer.

Livenation should have told you at the time of purchase, it's there venue not 10 clubs, that being said I hope you get your money back and are able to secure good fan club seats. We can't kill a guy for trying. I too am an attorney as there are many of us out there as you mentioned and would be willing to help you out. Plus I've always liked Sawyer on Lost, my favorite TV show of all time, though this better not be a con :D

Not at all. No money ever changed hands, no contract signed, no product delivery.
This thread should just go away now.

And if you waited until then you would be all good. Ten club would not have known better. You are right though that 10c needed your post to make them aware of this. They owe you one. ;-)

If you haven't put dollar one down yet, that's quite a significant detail to have left out in sixteen pages of discussion.

not really since I had a contract drawn out and selected seats...the money was a formality

Those are good since they are from pre-existing season ticket holders.
  • usamamasan1usamamasan1 Posts: 4,695
Sawer, not having a signed contract and not having paid anything is not a formality.

Tickets to concerts are revocable licenses-most promises made in regard to ticket purchases are not enforceable contracts. Thats why fans have little recourse if the band cancels or if a band fails to show or cuts a show short because the lead singer is sick. EDIT: That you had not paid for the seats is much more than formality, it is what makes it a contract-its the consideration tendered for performance. Without that, what you have is an agreement to agree.

You mentioned a contract was on the way. If a contract for the season subscription was verbally agreed to then you might have a cause of action. Presumably it was sent out last week. There may be a legal issue of the contract simply memorializing a verbal contract. But that is a stretch. Other than that, you just need to work the customer service and "I want to speak to your supervisor" angle. They set aside good seats for these types of disputes, and in this case, it would be deserved.

I dont think the 10c has much to do with this. They secured 10c tickets and LN screwed it up.
