    Hi all,

I'm staying at the Timber Ridge Lodge, Lake Geneva. Would be interested to hear from anyone else staying there as maybe we can share some kind of transport to the Alpine Valley and back.

I'm travelling over from Scotland for this so hope it's good!

    Grant.

    I HAVE 1 QUESTION

does alpine valley nowadays have a curfew? i saw pj their in 2003, and they were not in any hurry but they came out early for that tour a good 15 or 20 mins befoer they normally hit stage, i remember that. i think they play till around 1130pm if i remember right. but it seems like that venue does have curfew?

someone too told me it never used to but they had trouble with people camping and being rowdy at the venue, is it true you cant camp in the parking lot overnight there??????? so that kind of sucks camping wise you cant just camp in the parking lot with your car, fuck id sleep in my car, but that is not allowed, the state police clear the lot out each night ya? so they must have a curfew at this venue yes?

i saw pj in 03 at state college pa they played till 1230am that night and came out late around9pm i think or just after 9pm, when i went to alpine show when i saw it was in middle of nowhere, i thought damn maybe pj is gonna come out at 9 or 10pm tonight and play till 1am, we in the middle of fuckin nowhere baby. but that was not the case pj ended by 1130pm almost sharp it seemed. this damn place has a curfew doesn it?
so there is no hope pj hits stage at midnight sharp and plays until 420am? ;)

when pj announced a 20th year festival, i was hoping they would pick some place that really has no curfew, like manchester tn where bonaroo is, those fuckers can play till 4am there if they want

maybe pj doesnt want to play late night shit like that, but it would be freakin cool especially at a festival, i remember woodstock stories bands coming at 2 and 3am to play a set, wish pj can do that, but alpine has a curfew doesnt it? is it 12am?

Alpine is basically between Elkhorn and East Troy and I live in Elkhorn. I can tell you that the Hampton Inn and AmericInn in Elkhorn will be the two nicest hotels. The Hampton is basically brand new. The Crossroads Motel is not a bad place at all and is the closest to the venue (although Elkhorn is not big, they are all within 15 mins). The Thomas Motel is an absolute dump, don't stay there unless it is a last resort.

Like a previous poster said, there are plenty of bars around, you just have to be willing to mingle with some harmless locals. I would definitely recommend the Hampton if you can get a room there. You are within walking distance of Culvers/McDonalds/Cousins and also a grocery and (more importantly) liquor store.

If this does happen during Labor Day, that just so happens to be the weekend of the Walworth County Fair that takes place in Elkhorn. Lodging could be a little bit more in demand due to this. Also, if you're staying for the weekend and have some time to kill, go check out the fair and get a cinnamon roll from the Silver Dollar Bakery. You will NOT be disappointed.

We have reservations at the Crossroads, just 5 miles from the venue, anyone else staying there??
