It would be nice if 10 club would just go ahead and make this official. It's not like anyone is going to surprised that its Alpine Valley.
    8/29/00, 7/3/03, 5/24/06,6/28/08 & 6/30/08, 10/9/09,10/28/09, 10/30/09 & 10/31/09, 5/15/10, 5/17/10, 5/18/10, 5/20/10 & 5/21/10, 10/23/10 & 10/24/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 9/11/11, 9/12/11, 9/23/11, 9/22/12, 9/30/12, 7/16/13, 7/19/13

Well, I kind of hope it is at Alpine, since I live in Mil-town and it would only be a 40 minute drive, but I am also kind of hoping it is in Chicago. Is there any chance PJ throws a curveball and has this fest at Soldier Field? It would just be way more convenient for everybody with hotels, travel, location, etc.

Also, from the looks of it from the 04/08/11 Walworth County Today, Alpine will allow camping this year w/75 sites limited to 6 persons a site and two cars. That just won't be enough IMO.

    http://walworthcountytoday.com/news/201 ... ne-valley/

Thats what i have been thinking even before the Alpine Valley rumor. Why not Soldier Field? Chicago is a big city with plenty of hotels and has a major airport so people can fly in from around the world. Don't count out Soldier Field just yet (wishful thinking Fingers, toes and testicals crossed)

The Bears have a home preseason game that weekend(Labor Day Weekend). You can officially forget about Soldier Field. And before you suggest Wrigley Field, the Cubs are at home against the Pirates that Weekend(Labor Day Weekend)

I agree that Soldier Field is unlikely to happen but all these reasons why hinge on the date being Labor Day. Unless I've missed something that is in no way official.

It comes with a cost though. Instead of paying 300 for a suite at AVR, I booked one for half the cost 15 miles down the road. It saves us $450 for three nights. I'm fine with that.

Delavan will be a good spot to stay. It'll be about a 20 min trek to AV, no biggy. There's plenty of restaurants there as well as a shopping area. Where are you staying?

And for whoever asked about the Country Inn, that's the closest hotel to the venue besides staying at Alpine. It's nice, theres just not a whole lot nearby.

Cost wasn't an issue. It was an issue of convenience coming from Philly. Now we can walk to the venue and not have to deal with traffic.

Yeah that is true. Luckily I will most likely have the option of a place to stay in Lake Geneva, but getting out of Alpine is a complete mess.

Just booked the Comfort Suites in Delavan. It looks like it is in a good location along I43. Is lake Geneva a nice spot to chill since it is close?

You can always walk over to our tailgate afterwards and grab yourself a beer ;) I'm sure we will be partying it up long after traffic dies down.

What would be the best place to camp in terms of location, ease of access, ability to consume alcohol, possible shuttle, etc.?

    Thanks.

Yeah LG is cool in the summer. Lots of little shops and the lake is nice to walk around. If you're into golf, Delbrook is in Delavan, nice little course and cheap. Nothing fancy.

I was definitely planning on meeting up with people since we weren't going to have a car. I'd love to hang after. My wife's sister and her husband are flying in from Tucson and we are driving from Philly.

I think we are gonna rent a minivan and drive from pa as well. We have 6 people so we are trying to accomodate everyone and bring enough tailgating supplies along with us.

For the record, that will be the last time I drive a minivan! :D

I'd love to get in on a party bus from Chicago, that's a great idea!

Also, for those of you worried about the traffic afterwards, some of the best times I've had at Alpine occured while hanging out in the parking lot while everyone was trying to leave. Put on some good tunes, crack open a beer, and enjoy!

Don't worry, it will be. My wife despises them as well. Even when we have children, you can bet we won't be driving one.

I would much rather rent a big RV but they seem to cost more than flying, after all the fees, mileage and gas is factored in.

Gas alone would probably cost more than 2 flights. hahahahaha Who knows, by then it could be $6 per gallon.

Good work by you!! I'm sure you know but I think locals have said there isn't much public transportation so you may need to rent a car. But with 4 people that should be pretty cheap. See ya there!!!

Scenic Ridge is hands down the best place to camp near Alpine. No more than 10 miles on back roads from Apline. Family owned campground off whitewater lake with small beach. Been going there for almost 20 yrs for shows at alpine. Pricing is a bit steep..since its holiday weekend they charge 20 a night I believe..mandatory 2 night stay.

I'm driving from PA too...I think there's quite a few of us...the weekend of PJ20, there will be a mass exodus from PA to Wisconsin :D
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....
