I'll be headed to Euclid Records here in STL. Really cool store. They're having bands play, food, beer...mmm...beer. It's a pretty cool event every year. My old boss from back when I worked at Streetside Records (RIP) works there now, so I'll also get to hang with old friends!
i will be hitting up a couple shops, despite my belief that rsd is now the black friday of record shopping. it started off well, but it's exploded and (to me, anyway) the meaning has been lost.
i'll be looking for the two black angels releases, the 13th floor elevators 7", the syd barrett lp, and maybe the daft punk tron thing.
I will be up bright and early....gonna try and score me a Deftones Covers Vinyl And the remastered VS vinyl....and maybe one of those Frank Kozik toys.
...and if i find a good sale i will grab a few albums to add to my recently started collection.
didn't i read that there were going to be special record store day versions of VS & Vitalogy?

It's the normal release. They are releasing it in indie shops only, for one month, then everywhere else...Gets people in the shops.
I am very lucky to have a record store within walking distance of my apartment, Tunes in Hoboken, NJ. So I will be stopping by there Sat. morning to see if I can get Medium Rare by the FF and check out whatever else they have.
I've never been shopping on RSD and someone upthread mentioned is like the Black Friday of record shopping, so I am lowering my expectations of actually being able to buy anything!
"McCready played on, lending credence to the theory that he was actually built in Stone’s basement from spare truck parts and vinyl records." - Glide Mag. review of MSG 7/8/03
Jerry's Used Records is giving away 10'000 free records(sealed boxes of 100,five per person) ....Thats my first stop..After that l'll try and find a few things for myself and some things that I've seen people on here say they wanted but, couldn't get.
Mom's getting her hair did and I'm taking my daughter to Easy Street in Westie first thing tomorrow morning to comb the bins. Then daddy daughter breakfast and home to spin our purchase(s)!!!
If I have time I might hit up the few record stores that are left in the city, just to see if they have any deals. It's cool that they have a Record Store Day. Nobody ever thought that vinyl would be big again, but it looks like it's happening!
Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 2016
Going to Easy Street to pick up a few albums....and to check out Duff play. Then off to EMP to see the new Nirvana exibit.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I have been every year with my son. I get vinyl, he gets a superhero toy and we check out the live bands. We go to Criminal Records in Atlanta. And there usually happens to be a festival going on nearby... Sweetwater 420Fest.
Haven't decided if I'll go to one or two local stores, but I'll be looking for the Deftones and Foo Fighters cover LPs (hint hint Pearl Jam). I'll also see what else I can find but I really want to get the Deftones album.
the ebay collectors have ruined record store day for me. it's like the ticket brokers. they get in line early and buy all the rarest shit to sell them on ebay.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Yes. If you show up 10mins before the store opens there will likely be 20 dudes in front of you in line that look like the comic book guy from The Simpsons.

Last year at Waterloo in Austin the line was around the block 20 minutes before it opened.
It seems to me the record stores and the customers would be better seved if RSD was 5 or 6 times per year. That way the stores wouldn't be forced to buy all this stuff at one time and we wouldn't be forced to spend all the cash on one day. There are more than enough releases now.

My local store here in Cleveland posted a note on their facebook page today saying that the PJ VS and Vitalogy Vinyl's will NOT be coming out tomorrow. They weren't ready in time, but they'll have them soon. Not sure if this something that's happening nationwide or if its a single store issue.
EDIT: I asked if they would still have the Immortality 7" and they responded saying it was not a US Release! Not sure what's going on, but I was certain this was going to be available in the states. They may not know what they're talking about.

What records are you gonna try to get?
Yes. If you show up 10mins before the store opens there will likely be 20 dudes in front of you in line that look like the comic book guy from The Simpsons.

Going to try and get the Neurosis album though - if anyone sees one going spare I'll have it!
Hitting up all of the indie record stores in Newcastle tomorrow to look for it. Mike pick up a couple of other things too - we'll see what's about!
